Free Music Review: I HAD TO WRITE ABOUT THIS ONE AGAIN
Hit: 5 Stars

I was the first to review this cd on amazon. I got this one the day it came out in Los Angeles. Sorry to write again but: YOU HAVE TO CHECK THIS CD OUT!!!! My girlfriend who is NOT an Eric Burdon fan now drives around L.A. singing every word to this GREAT WORK!!! I have met Eric several times in Mississippi and New Orleans and would often tell him how good the new "live" cd was but: I cant wait to see him again to give him a hug on this one. I really hope he is happy with the efforts on this one. I also hope he smiles all the way to the bank. It is Eric Burdons turn!!!! He worked for US fans to make us happy on this cd. In my opinion: if the radio stations dont play these songs and people dont buy this cd, the record business is OVER for great artists!!!!!If you like rock, spanish / latin, blues, jazz and easy listening: you will LOVE this cd!!!Eric NOW has a problem: What can he do to top this one?????

Free Music Review: Don't bother with sound clips... just buy My Secret Life!
Hit: 5 Stars

WOW! Been a fan of Eric Burdon's like forever it seems, been collecting his music from each turn of his career, and the first word that comes to mind about this new recording is WOW!
Not that it will "replace" my old EB favorites... but this is the kind of album in particular where one feels the overwhelming desire to roll down the windows and crank up the volume! The style, variety, quality of voice and sound is astonishingly good. This is music that keeps playing over again in your head long after the stereo has been shut off. Brilliant effort by EB and a MUST HAVE not only for hardcore fans but anyone who can appreciate great music and pure TALENT. The sound clips just can't do this album justice... you have to buy it, listen, and be blown away. We fans eagerly await the next musical journey from Eric Burdon, he doesn't have to "top" this cd, just more of the same please will do!!!

Free Music Review: Truely cool
Hit: 5 Stars

Eric Burdon is one of the most underappreciated artists of his time. This CD was put out in 2004 and Eric's voice can still growl and belt out tunes better than guys 1/2 his age. There are some truely cool tunes on this CD. Track 5 - Factory girl is blues tune with Celtic tint - Burdons voice is haunting as it's complemented by the Uillean Pipes and Irish whistle -superb! Track 2 - Motorcycle Girl is the just plain good - and others - Highway 62, Over the Border - all excellent.

Eric Burdon is a storyteller - he's been recounting stories in his music since the 60's and this talent is undiminished. I can listen these songs for hours.

Listening to his stories on this CD makes me wonder just what kind of journey his life has been for him to write such thought provoking and moving tunes.

This CD is a joy to listen to and a trip to take - enjoy.

Free Music Review: i can't stop listening to this cd
Hit: 5 Stars

i haven't really heard anything from eric burdon in more than 35 years. i saw this in a cd store and it intrigued me, so i bought it on a dare. it is simply the best cd i've heard in a long time. his voice is better than it was when he was with the original animals...that's 40 years ago, for you young whippersnappers. the songs range from jazz to blues to boogie to rhythm and blues to rock to stuff you've never heard from anyone...stuff that's hard to categorize. his phrasing is impeccable. the songs he wrote will blow you away, especially "can't stop the boogieman," his homage to john lee hooker. and the songs he interprets, well, they'll blow you away too. if i could give six stars, i would. amazing!

Free Music Review: My Secret Life
Hit: 5 Stars

This CD is Erics first studio-album since I Used To Be An Animal who was released in 1988. The recording of it actually took place in 1986.
Now, after a break of almost 20 years, Eric is back with a new album. This is perhaps his best work ever. At least his best work released on CD! The first thing that strikes with me with this album is its wide spectre of songs; The latino Motorcycle Girl who geniously captures the picture of a relationship at its end to the jazzy Jazzman to the hard-hitting, Hammond-dominated Over The Border.
A MUST for anyone who'd like to support a great artist and own a great piece of music!
We're holding our breath, waiting for the next album, Eric!
