I'm a huge EB fan - have been for 30 years. I love all the "boot" live discs he's been putting out in recent years. But, I never thought he had a new product quite like this - he wrote almost of these songs, too. This has to be the highwater mark of his esteemed career. The singing is nothing short of astonishing. In his early 60's now - he has lost nothing - in fact, he seems to have more raw power and energy than ever. In a fair world, where talent and material quality prevails over flash & fad - this would be hailed as one of the great albums of the year/decade....Free Music Review: buy this one!! a must for Burdon fans.

This new Eric Burdon cd is a must have for any fan of his. Burdon gives 110% of his feelings and emotions on this one. Good rock, good blues, and very good jazz on this cd. YES, JAZZ ALSO!!!! All new songs that once again prove that Eric still has it!!! The recording quality is also very nice. Produced by drummer Tony Braunagel, who also proves a rock drummer can really groove with a set of jazz brushes on several tunes.All musicians do a great job backing Mr. Burdon on this one. Great "Memphis style" backup singers as well.Once again; check this one out. You should did it!Free Music Review: Look, there isn't much to say.

Get this recording and listen to it four times. I guarantee at that point you will be addicted. It has it all and then some. A man of 63 singing like this? Just spectacular. I love Mick, but with all due respect (and he deserves a lot,) I don't think Mick could do the same justice to some of the material here as Burdon does.
If you're looking for a bright star in a dark universe... If your looking for some fun or have been yearning for an album you can sink your teeth into, look no further. I have rediscoverd Eric Burdon and he never left the building.

What kind of words can I use to describe this new CD by a journeyman vocalist whom most of you have probably heard of? All of the above. Seldom in today's recording industry does an album reach out and grab you with it's full creative force behind it which the artist has learned over 40+ years, thru countless miles on the road and association with some of the best artists in the world. The result is Eric Burdon today and he has never sounded better. Yowza~I bought this cd specifically because of Leonard Cohen's song, "Secret Life" being covered. And would have been happy with just a satisfactory version of that song.
First off, Burdon does a fantastic job with Cohen's song. But then...it turns out the rest of the cd is phenomenal!
Jazzy. Bluesy. Rock. Burdon's singing is wonderful.
