Free Music Notes for The Road to Escondido

Free Music Review: BEST ALBUM OF 2006
Hit: 5 Stars

I just have to hope this will not be the last project from these two legends of guitar. Songs like "Ride The River" can make a bad day go away in a heartbeat. I didn't know JJ Cale live in Valley Center (Near Escondido) - so, that's cool we have legends like his residing in our region. I will be seeing EC in San Diego this March...maybe, just maybe JJ Cale could 'pop in' for a song on stage with Clapton. Always like to be hopeful. Peace - JG "Bear"

Free Music Review: Clapton and Cale are One
Hit: 5 Stars

I'm a long time Clapton lover all the way back to when CREAM ruled my head. If you like the Clapton Chronicles or any of the later works where the engineering is top shelf, you will love this album. The collaboration of Cale and Clapton is sensual and fluid. John Mayer is clearly a Clapton student and the late Preston is part of the glue. All the artists on this album shine with talent and humility. This one's a real keeper for me. I love it.

Free Music Review: Great pairing
Hit: 5 Stars

Finally, an album I can use for cruisin' in the car, or dance to if the mood strikes! Cale's and Clapton's styles are wonderfully complimentary. Sure, maybe the album is a bit reminiscent of the '70s, and doesn't explore new territory, but there was lot of FINE and fun music that came out then, which made us SMILE. It's great these two legends chose to reiterate that feeling, including other notables to team up with them.

Free Music Review: JJ Cale / Eric Clapton
Hit: 5 Stars

The Road.. is a very good album if what you are looking for is Cale lyrics and guitar licks with the man who made Cales's song's classics.
To the listener familiar with both men's styles, it is sweet to be able to listen to the two voices and guitars weave among the songs. Few know of Cale's influence on music but this was recorded in his style of voice and guitar not covered up by the other. A real gem.

Free Music Review: Do it again!
Hit: 5 Stars

It's not often that the first time I listen to a recording I love it instantly, but that's what happened when I heard The Road to Escondido. There really isn't anything not to like about this recording. The songs, music, and the way that Clapton and J.J. Cale harmonize is just amazing. My only hope is that they do this again and release another recording together.
