Free Music Notes for Complete ClaptonFree Music Review: Another awesome Clapton compilation! Hit: 5 Stars
First, there's the boxed set entitled CROSSROADS,then there's THE CREAM OF CLAPTON with all previously released material, then there's CLAPTON CHRONICLES with two original tracks. Disc One is technically,TCOC. Disc Two contains most of the material from CC. Those not part of disc two are the original tracks(from CC),(I) GET LOST,from the Bruce Willis-Michelle Pfeiffer film THE STORY OF US and BLUE EYES BLUE. Disc Two contains I'VE GOT A ROCK AND ROLL HEART from the 1983 release MONEY AND CIGARETTES. Anyway,if you're an Eric Clapton fan, this item is a must for you.
Free Music Review: Clapton is still the greates! Hit: 5 Stars
Admittedly, I've been a Clapton fan since he was with the Yardbirds so I have a bias towards his music over the years. The Complete Clapton is a collection of some of his greatest songs that demonstrate his creativity, musicianship, technical prowess but the songs also show a unique ability to match melodic lead riffs that match the song perfectly. Even if you're not a Clapton fan, this compilation will show you why he has been a strong influence on rock and roll/ blues for over 30 years. It's a great addition to any rock collection.
Free Music Review: Clapton is Good Hit: 5 Stars
I think that's what the person who wrote that graffiti back in the 60s meant. "God" was a spelling error.
I've heard all the stuff on this set and it's pleasant enough, but I still don't hear anything to justify the man's status as a guitar god ("Lay Down Sally" sure ain't gonna do it). His Derek and the Dominos stuff comes close, but I think it was due to Duane Allman challenging Clapton to greatness.
That being said, this is a solid collection of finely crafted pop songs. You cannot go wrong with this purchase.
Free Music Review: Slow-Hand Hit: 5 Stars
Eric's book was given to me as a Christmas gift. I could relate a lot to what he described as I am also in a 12-Step program. At the same time, I felt that much of his story had to be "sanitized" for a general audience. (Those of us who are in recovery know the true nature of addiction and the type of destruction is brings to ourselves and our loved ones around us.)
I would like to say to Eric: "Keep Coming Back! It Works If You Work It!"
Free Music Review: It's pure Clapton Hit: 5 Stars
What can you say about Eric Clapton that hasn't already been said over the past 30 years.
It covers R&B, blues and rock from his time with Blind Faith, Cream, and Derek and the Dominos. My favorites "Layla" and "Cocaine" and his sad and touching "Tears from Heaven". He was great when I was 20 and in my mind will continue to be one of the greatest guitarists and musicians of all times.
This is a must for ALL Clapton fans.
