Free Music Review: Excellent selection of blues material
Hit: 4 Stars

Should be four and a half stars, maybe five. This cd is worth the price and sounds great. Clapton has selected the best blues material compared with his other compilation blues releases. Some of the songs on this release are always played during a Clapton concert and you can feel his true emotion as he rips through the songs on this release. In true form, this release followed "Unplugged" and shows Clapton at his best.

Free Music Review: Get the blues...
Hit: 5 Stars

Nothing like Eric Clapton covering the music he's loved all of his life. A full-on blues album, that shows off Clapton's talents.

I think sometimes he might try to over sing, or as the review says, sing too much like the original artist. But overall it's right on the money and you can hear the emotion Clapton has connected to these songs, and that it's his love. His singing is so underrated even by himself.

Besides hearing a varied style of classic blues songs covered, we, of course, get some fiery guitar work all over the place.

If you like Clapton, the blues, guitar, great singing, or all of these it's an album you'll want to check out. Most likely you won't be dissapointed.

Free Music Review: Hot Damn!!!
Hit: 5 Stars

I love blues. And there is nothin'. I mean nothin', better than "From the Cradle". Even B.B. King live.

Free Music Review: For consistently great Clapton--listen to his Blues
Hit: 5 Stars

I'm a big Blues fan. I love the Blues live. I'm also fortunate to have a brother with the most fabulous collection Blues on the planet. I decided to work my way through his entire collection, and I put off listening to much of his Blue collection because it was too big. So I started oon the less daunting task of browsing his rock collection. After listening to many of Clapton rock albums, frankly I was not impressed.

On the other hand, I stumbled onto this CD, and it turned out to be one of those special CD's where I loved every track.

Eric Clapton, may not be your traditional blues singer and picker, but you can't argue with his talent on this CD. Worth picking up. If you like Clapton and the Blues, don't miss it.

Free Music Review: One of the most amazing talents out there.
Hit: 5 Stars

After reading several of the 1 star posts I had to write this. I'm sitting here listening to this album. Eric Clapton is one of the greatest talents in music of any era. Derek and The Dominoes, Cream, John Mayal, the Yardbirds, Blind Faith, and of course a stellar solo career.

When I first heard this album I was totally blown away. I've always known that E.C has a great ability with his voice. This album shows just how wonderful, dymanic, and flexible he is with his voice and playing. He can sing in many different ways, and styles.

Each song carries a different style of voice. Listen back to the old albums of Willie Dixon, Robert Johnson, Johnny Lee Hooker, and others of the blues era. They sang exactly how E.C sings in this album. The fact that E.C can mimick their voices on this album is a true sign of his unrivaled talent. I'm just so glad that he came out with this album.

He's bringing back some of the old classics so people can know what the music was like 50 years ago. He opens a whole new avenue for the blues.

The artists of the time really groaned and croned. He gave some real authentisity to some old classics which had been long abandoned because they were recorded so long ago that it would be real tough to take the flaws of the old recording equipment out.

I like almost every song on here. He soars on each in a different way. For those who may not like this album look more deeply into not only how he sings, by why he sings the way he does. When it sounds like he's croning, and groaning it's on purpose.

I think that Eric sings the Blues with a real zest bringing a certain genuine real voice to some old classics at a time when so many old songs are dissapearing.

Of course his guitar playing is awesome as usual.
