Free Music Review: All of Claptons most famous 70s tracks

This album was prematurely called the best of Clapton. Although the songs are great, he has done even better since. Everybody should own this set of Clapton songs, they were all huge hits that are universally loved and recognised. That said, for me, Eric's best work is the raw blues he did before and after this most successful of periods for him. This has all of Claptons biggest (70s) hits on it. If you are not an avid Clapton collector, get this -- every record collection should include the tracks on here (Layla, Cocaine, Wonderful Tonight, I Shot the Sheriff). Then my suggestion would be not to buy anymore Clapton from that period (not even the highly acclaimed Layla album) -- this album gives you the best of it. Instead rush out and buy Eric Clapton and John Mayall's BluesBreakers (Clapton playing blues in the 60s a neophyte blues sensation) and then get From the Cradle (Clapton the blues Master, a forgotten masterpiece) -- both are raw and exciting. Also get Unplugged (for the sublime Tears in Heaven, Malted Milk and acoustic Layla, if you like that). That just leaves "Change the World" as a must have track! Remember though, Eric is still going strong and getting better all the time. The best may be yet to come. Although in his 50's his creativity is still strong and his skills and finese go from strength to strength. He seems a little lost now that he is not touring, however his new young family while providing a (no doubt welcome) distraction will likely provide new avenues of emotion and experience to capture. More blues please sir!
