Free Music Review: Composer Review Hit: 5 StarsI've not heard the CD. I was just introduced to Eric Whitacre's music last night at a special concert at Capital University in Columbus, Ohio. I've never heard anything like this music; it is ethereal and grounded, simple and stunning, mind-blowing and earth-shattering, healing and affirming, passionate and spiritual. Like Mozart, Vivaldi, and many of the Baroque composers, Eric Whitacre writes with such stunning grace and exquisite tones and phrasing that his music makes you cry; I found myself floating, swimming, luxuriating in the sounds. I recommend this CD unheard, solely because of the ecstacy of last night's concert. And I highly suggest checking out Whitacre's Web site and finding out more about his other music, as well as the upcoming "Paradise Lost" premiere in L.A.
