This is one of those recordings that comes along once in a long time. Although it is a latin jazz recording, it is so good that it transcends style. This is music made, simply, for people who love music. If you love music, of whatever kind, pick this up. "Holy crap!!!" That was my verbal reaction after listening mere seconds to the Amazon samples of Esperanza. I've been listening to the CD for the past couple of days now, and that feeling of awe has only deepened - I am blown away. Esperanza has a beautifully, airy voice which is complimented by nice, smooth jazz. A trend setter she is. Jazz is "outside" of the box and she has found her own nitch outside of that box and she does it SO well. "Fall In" is one of my favs on the album...simply beautiful. I'm no musician and cetainly no jazz expert. I just love beautiful, interesting, melodious music. This album took my breath away. Every time that I listen to it, I hear something new that catches my ear. The album seems to be packed with talent, but that combination of voice and bass is something else altogether.

When I first listened to the sample songs of this cd before I bought it, I knew I was going to like it. I have to admit I underestimated the success of this young and very talented lady. The music, both from the instrumental and the vocal point of view, is very pleasant both to the ear and to the heart. All I can say is 'bravo'.
