Free Music Notes for The Ultimate Collection

Free Music Review: Smart Pop
Hit: 5 Stars

The Eurythmics singles were always much better than the complete albums they came from and The Ultimate Collection gathers together their greatest hits plus two new songs. "Here Comes The Rain Again" is their finest moment and one of the best singles from the 80's. "Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This)" was their lone number one single and is a great synth-pop song while "Would I Lie To You?" has a crunching guitar riff and blazing horn section. "I Saved The World Today" from their late 90's comeback album is a beautiful track. The two new songs open and close the album. The upbeat "I Got A Life" is the opener and better of the two songs with a downcast "Was It Just Another Affair" closing out the album. The Eurythmics made some of the 80's most intelligent and best produced songs and they still hold up twenty years later.

Free Music Review: Classic music from a classic group
Hit: 5 Stars

I love the Eurythmics. I always have. I saw them in concert a few years back and it actually sealed what I thought of them. I always knew they were great, but they were good performers too and Annies voice is totally amazing. It's a testament to their talent that they are still around and still have the ability to sell albums. I love Thorn In My Side. It's my all time favourite of theirs and it's on here along with so many other fantastic songs that they've done over the years. You can dance along to this since there are so many upbeat songs and there's the variety of a few slower ones too. This music is classic and it is a must buy for all of their fans and even some new ones. You'll love it.

Free Music Review: Great Collection of Greatest Hits
Hit: 5 Stars

Sometimes I'm ashamed to admit that during my teens and early 20s I enjoyed synth-pop. I've moved on, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying this collection of greatest hits by one of the more talented and original groups from the 80s and 90s. It brought back a lot of memories and reminded me why I enjoyed the Eurythmics so much. Morover, the songs stand the test of time -- unlike many song from the era. They are all, every one of them, fantastic. Annie Lennox has never been as good than when she was with Dave Stewart. They were one of the great duos of that last twenty years and this compilation only proves that.

Free Music Review: Annie Great Voice, and Collection
Hit: 5 Stars

It is great to have Annie and Dave working together again for now. I love the effect time has had on Annie's Voice. She has gotten better and stronger with age. Her Sound is much more husky now then in the past. She is becoming a great soul singer. The new song Ive Got A Life is a good opener and contrast for the rest of the tracks on the CD. The rest of the CD has some of the Eurythmics greatest hit's. This is a enjoyable collection for a Eurythmics fan. This will hold you over until the next album. We hope soon!!!!!

Free Music Review: Just what the Title implies - The Ultimate Collection
Hit: 5 Stars

This dynamic duo brought hope to the 80's that individuality was still alive and creative life can emerge beyond synthesizers and spandex. I cant help listening to this when driving in my car - is it that surreal Love is a Stranger in an Open Car beat or Annie belting out Sweet Dreams? I dont know, but its a must have for those of us who survived the 80's without skads of pictures of ourselves with big band hair or garbed up like Madonna. Bless you Annie and Dave...
