Free Music Notes for FallenFree Music Review: A Breakdown for a good CD. Hit: 5 Stars
I am someone who can honestly say that if you give everyone of these songs a chance, you will love them. I am person who listens to Enya, Sarina Paris, and sad enough *bashful look* I own the pokemon album, and i Loved this CD. Since i like this CD so much, how about a breakdown of why!!!1. Going Under This is my FAVORITE SONG. I think this song is one of best made songs i have ever heard because of how original it was to me. My favorite part of the song is when she goes, I'M!!!!! DYING AGAIN! IM GOING UNDER!!!! I think that her vocals are fantastic and if you are someone who always sings to the song like me, buy, download (off of itunes legally of course) or record this song because its fantastic. 2. Bring Me To Life This song was a really good one before they overplayed it. I really think that if you liked this song back when it was a huge hit, than you will love the album. Unfortunately all of songs sound like this one, not so similar that its like a copy over and over again but it is like you are listening to this type of song. the only exception is My immortal. 3. Everybody's Fool I really liked this song too. I think that this one is well done because of the way they put together the song. its got kind of a mixed and good style to it, and the tempo changes in it are great. 4. My Immortal This is the exception. I loved this song especially since i love to sing to it. I really do like the way that she uses her voice in this one, the only thing i didnt like about it is that rock and roll that occurs at the end, its a little weird, but i have a version that is piano which a bettter. I liked this song and its a good slow one but not a definition of the rest of the CD. 5. Haunted TOO WEIRD FOR ME! i thought this song was a little weir,d and it made me feel like i was in a HAUNTED MANSION! OOOOO SPOOKY 6. Tourniquet I loved this song too. I think that the beat and lyrics to this song are really good. If evanescence had any past in christian rock it shows in this song. Its got a constant sound that stays pretty much though the whole song. 7. Imaginary This song was one that i listened to over and over again. I dont know why but i loved the lyrics so much i thought that they were clever and very touching to a persons soul. 8. Taking Over Me It sounds a lot like My last breathe + Going Under. I think that this one is a good next video for the band if they were to make one unless they do imaginary. 9. Hello TOO DEPRESSING FOR ME!!! I AM SORRY! 10. My Last Breath I hold this one and Taking over me in the same boat. They sound so much a like but i do love them both, i think that taking over me is better than this one, only because that one sounds more like Going under, MY FAVORITE. 11. Whisper This song was one that i never gave a chance and when i did i found myself pushing the repeat button way to much. I really did like this song as well and found it to be a great ROCK add, even though it really doesnt sound to rocky in the middle, the beginning is decieving.
Free Music Review: Best CD I've ever heard. Hit: 5 Stars
When I first bought this album I thought it would be like any other cd I've ever bought, I always get bored of them. And when I listened to it, I really didn't like it at first. But as time went on I loved it more and more. I am in my own band as the lead singer, everyone is blown away by my voice. But this girl, Amy, the lead singer of Evanescence has the highest vocal range I've ever heard. She has so much control over her voice. The band is so talented, though I think the guitar parts in the verses could improve. The guitar part only have some rythmic beat to Amy's voice in the verses. The notes that she sings are beautiful and amazing. In the drumming in "My Last Breath" at the end of the song is unbelievable! On with my point, this is how I rate each song indavidualy. 1. Going Under-5/5. The lyrics are dark and heavy, it's a song that I can relate to. Before I got this CD I've heard this song in my sleep once and more. 2. Bring Me to Life-4/5. I can play the piano parts to this easily. I loved this song, but I hear people singing it all the time, they SUCK at singing. If they want to sing, at least sing it right. It's on the radio all the time. And they have the singer from 6 Stones sing too. But overall, I give it a 4 out of 5. 3. Everybody's Fool-5/5. This song was obviously written to God. The lyrics, "Never was and never will be, you're not real and you can't save me," shout out that the song is dedicated to god. "No flaws when you're pretending", "Just what we all need, more lies about a world that never was and never will be, you don't know how you've betrayed me-" It's a great song. 4. My Immortal-5/5. I like their newer version of this song better. I can play the entire song on the piano while singing with no problem. Can I find music that I can't play? 5. Huanted-5/5. An evil, dark song for the Devil. Just what I like, right? 6. Tourniquet-4.5/5. They just had to stick this Christian song right after the demonic song. This osng is about their salvation from God. 7. Imaginary-4/5. The string's part of this song are beautiful alon gwith her voice. She sings about her "sleeping refuge" and her "rampant chaos." Beautiful. 8. Taking Over Me-5/5. The best song on this album! I even dedicate it to a person that I haven't seen for a long time. We knew eachother for a few days, love first sight. Haven't seen him ever since that fateful day.... 9. Hello-5/5. Beautiful piano chords to this song. She hits one onote that is UNBELIEVABLE. In this song it sings about being ignored. That's the way I see it. 10. Holding My Last Breath-5/5. This is a romantic but cold song. Someone must've died in her life. 11. Whisper-5/5. Another great song added to my favorites list. This song I don't mind having stuck in my head while taking a test. The next song I won't rate, it's the same as #4. I dedicate it to the love I lost. "I've tried so hard to tell myself that you're gone..." I love this song. It makes me sick listening to it, though I love it....And Music Review: Evanescence-one of the best bands today. :D Hit: 5 Stars
It took me forever to buy this CD but I was certainly glad I did. I even ended up rebuying it 2 more times when mine disappeared or got scratched up too much from being listened to ALL the time on my portable CD player.
Fallen is a GREAT CD. Many claim the songs sound similar to one another, which is true, but Amy's haunting voice and incredible lyrics keep the CD on the right track and make it a great listen over and over again. Amy Lee has to be one of my favorite female vocalists today despite the fact that she sounds like she moo's live. Her voice is haunting and has a hint of choral training-reminding me of Josh Groban. And her range is amazing, as seen on Whisper, Hello, and Imaginary.
1.) Going Under-5/5 I never get this sick of this song. The chorus is infectious and when she hits 'I'm dying again' it sounds amazing.
2.) Bring Me To Life-6/5 One of the best songs I have ever heard in my life. The beginning is amazing and draws me in every time. The lyrics are also amazing for this track.
3.) Everybody's Fool-4/5 I used to love this song, as did my mom, but it got played a lot and unlike the first two singles I had little patience after hearing it everytime I sat down in the car.
4.) My Immortal-3/5 This song is great, but I like the band version a LOT better and this song was WAY overplayed on our local radio station.
5.) Haunted-4/5 Creepy lyrics but none the less it sounds awesome all together. Her harmonies are beautiful.
6.) Tourniquet-6/5 This song has crazy lyrics-I love it. The very beginning sounds really cool when they edit her voice for "I tried to kill the pain but only brought more".
7.) Imaginary-5/5 Never thought a song about paper flowers would fly with me but after a while it soon became my favorite. And is it just me or is the middle violin section from M. Night Shamylan's 'The Village'? IDK I never saw that movie, only the trailers. XD
8.) Taking Over Me-6/5 I love the harmonies the best in this song.
9.) Hello-3/5 Not my favorite but it's certainly grown on me. This one is a capella and a few high notes sound weird and out of place on this CD.
10.) My Last Breath-4/5 Probably one of the more mature songs on this CD. Good lyrics but not as catchy as the rest.
11.) Whisper-5/5 One of my favorites. The chorus is great but the very end creeps me out with the french chanting (I think it's french)
*12.) My Immortal (Band Version)-4/5 Added onto a later batch of CDs. This version is a LOT better in my opinion but because of the radio play it gets, I don't listen to it much.
You may notice that I didn't rate any under a 3 because I love this CD. It played non-stop in my CD player for around 8 months straight, the record for any of my CDs to date except for Kelly Clarkson. I'd recommend and do recommend this to anyone, it's worth the money. Everything from the vocals to the band fits together perfectly. This isn't something for self proclaimed 'hard rockers' but if you enjoy pop or alternative I'd definately suggest this. I can't wait to hear their second one.
Free Music Review: this is a genre of music in itself.... Hit: 5 Stars
I think the best way to describe this cd is artistic. Honestly, how does one mix piano, drums, bass, guitar and more to make so many amazing songs? But I'm supposing most of you reading this are checking out how other people rated Evanescence because you love it. Or you're reading this because you hate Evanescence and you want to laugh at those who do like them. So i'm doing something else...heres a list of all the song you may NOT have heard, and if you are patient, you can easily find these on the internet. Most of these songs are from Origin, a cd they made in 1999, i think. 1.Away from me: (9/10) very difficult to find...the beat is very strange and haunting and I don't even know what is producing the noise....but it fits well.2.Where will you go (10/10) listen closely to these lyrics, they can suit many situations. If you read this as a poem, you would be touched. Add music, and you'll be blown away. 3.Forgive me (10/10) Easy to find...again, the lyrics are amazing. But i think of all the songs Amy Lee has done, her vocals are portrayed the best on this song (only possibly outdone by Broken with seether) 4.Surrender (9/10) I love the guitar in this song. much more hard rock....theres a lot of harmonic interludes of Amy Lee singing. The lyrics are bit cliche. 5.Field of Innocence (10/10) Ok this is the easiest to find. I've found it on 3 song sharers. It takes several listens to understand the lyrics. It focuses mostly on her voice, less on the music, but it makes it very haunting... 6.Restless (9/10) Beautiful display of Amy Lee's talents on a piano... 7.Eternal (8/10) No vocals, strictly music. The best mix of music ever put together by Evanescence. I wished there had been vocals. Beware, it sounds like it stops, but then a thunder clap hits you, and it can shock the crap out of you. 8.Lies (10/10) Amazing display of Amy's voice...especially the beginning. Then the guitar comes in with drums and you have your classic industrial/hard rock/gothic Evanescence song. If this was on Fallen, it would have been a hit single. 9.So close (10/10) My fave song oustide of Fallen. The guitar is amazing...its so beautiful....simple plucking of the strings yet it would out-do many other bands out there. 10.Give Unto Me (9/10) Fairly slow and relaxed, very piano-based. Her voice is a little hard to hear but its very reflective. No drums or guitar. 11.Even in Death (9/10) I love the twisted sounds in the background of this song. You can almost picture someone lying on his/her lover's gravestone crying.....i know it sounds morbid and gothic but its beautiful. 12. Zero (live smashing pumpkins cover) My all-time 2 fave bands are the pumpkins and evanescence. Since SP has broken up, and i never did get to see them in concert, i got the next best thing: seeing Evanescence do a cover of their song Zero in concert!! oh and one last thing: if you think she sounds amazing on the CD, make an effort to see them in concert. Currently (its July) they are playing 3 unreleased songs....be ready for a new cd coming out, probably near christmas.
Free Music Review: Nice stuff Hit: 5 Stars
I knew Evanescence in May 2003.
At the time, I saw the Bring Me To Life video at TV, and honestly I don't like it.
*a few months later*
I saw Going Under video. And stayed like ":-O OMG, what's this?" and honestly, I LOVED IT!!
So, Going Under leaded me to all Evanescence music, and i bought Fallen. Since that, I can't stop listening. Everyday i hearded Fallen, Fallen was everything for me. I've never been a great music listener, but since I meat Evanescence all changed. Evanescence really make me search more about music, and make me know a lot of great bands that I love today, like After Forever and Epica, and other ten thousand great bands!
But talking about Fallen, I really love it, i don't listen to much nowadays, but I can't forget the time I only listen to it, and i still feel love for this album :D
A review from the songs:
Going Under - It lead me to Evanescence. A dark, strong, powerful song. Absolutly great!! *5/5*
Bring Me To Life - I really don't like it very much, but it still ok. I prefer the "Bliss Mix" version, that's the same of Fallen, without Paul McCoy's rap, only Amy singing. *3/5*
Everybody's Fool - At the begining i don't understand very well the meaning of the lyric, but since the video is out, i really get into it, and it's a good song with an important message. *4,5/5*
My Immortal - First time I heard it, i thought it was one of the most beautiful songs i ever heard. Very, very beautiful, but kinda boring after a long time. Still a good song with an awsome lyric (one of the best lyric, no doubt). *4/5*
Haunted - The name says everything! A dark, haunting song, powerful vocal and nice guitar solos. *5/5*
Tourniquet - One of my favourits!! great music, great lyric! *5/5*
Imaginary - Another of my favourites one. Origin's version is way better, but i like also this one. Beautiful. *5/5*
Taking Over Me - I never was a big fan of this one. Like My Immortal a little boring after a long time, but like evry single song, i like it. *4/5*
Hello - A dramatic, emotional song. it's a very sad song, but beautiful at the same time. Amy sings it magicaly. *5/5*
My Last Breath - Another one that i never liked very much, but i love the lyric. It's so misterious and deep. great one, though i don't hear it very much. *4/5*
Whisper - A perfect final song for the album. Talks about our fears, death..a great powerful song, with a nice latin chorus in the end. *5/5*
IN THE FALLEN DESERVES: *5/5* ;)
For those who only know Fallen, i REALLY suggest you to know older songs, that are even better than this ones, like "Give Unto Me" (a beautiful 6 minutes long piano song), "October", "Where will you Go", "Away From Me" and "Understanding". there's a lot more, search it and you'll see there's a lot more, great stuff, not so "Nu-metal" like Fallen, but more softer and deeper.
*Sorry my bad bad English*
