Free Music Notes for Amplified HeartFree Music Review: Amplify Your Heart with this CD! Hit: 5 StarsThis album is by far the most cherished CD of my entire CD collection! I am a total EBTG fan and love all their work. But because this album was the last of the non-electronic productions they put out, I believe it truly allows for an appreciation of their lyrics and accoustic arrangements. Tracy's voice is so soothing and the instruments blend so perfectly and harmoniously to create classic pieces that speak straight to the heart. If you don't own it, it's time you do!
Free Music Review: down this street again Hit: 4 StarsI must admit. After buying "Walking Wounded", the only reason I had really bought "Amplified Heart" was for "Missing" and the fact that it was in the used section. And then recently I put it on from the beginning listen to it, and was very pleased. This album is near perfection. While "Walking Wounded" focus on the electronic beats sometimes muddles the emotions and lovely Tracey Thorn's voice, "Amplified Heart" shimmers acousticly. While people on these reviews seem to hate one and love another, I respect both very much. But I must say, in the end Amplified Heart is a bit superior. It's becoming one of my favourite albums.Ben Watt takes the leads on two of the best songS (Walking to You, 25th December) and Tracey mellowly brings us through the rest of the album. These are beautiful melodies people. If you're a music fan (like a crazed one haha), get this album! I highly recommend it.
Free Music Review: Incredible, a must have for lovers of music...BUY IT NOW! Hit: 5 StarsThis is one of the few albums that I can play from start to finish. In short, it is calm enough to have on while reading an important piece, or jam too during the workout. Few albums offer that diversity but the mellow downtempo beats provided by Watt and the stirring vocals of Thorn provide an usual type of song that can evoke all sort of feeling. Best tracks on the album3. I Don't Understand Anything 5. Get Me 7. Two Star
Free Music Review: DON'T JUDGE AN ALBUM BY THE SINGLE! Hit: 5 StarsIt was one glorious sort of moment when MISSING's dance version just flooded the airwaves and the dancefloors that it was virtually hard not to get IRRITATED by that single. I was one of those who got a bit irked and promised myself i have had just about enough MISSING for the rest of my life. Also, I became too judgemental of the whole album that I did not bother buying it anyway until after a couple of years when i came across the very same album in a bargain bin. Bought it and gave it a spin.I was wasting "a couple of years" of my life for not listening to this cd as IT ACTUALLY ASTOUNDED me that it was one good full album. MISSING is probably not even the best tune in there. Every cut is just awesome and particularly touched by Ben Watt's solo December tune...marvelous. Ben, if I'm not mistaken, has some jazz roots so he, too has the flair for some good music. From then on, I swear I won't ever judge an album by it's carrier single. And what do you know? I am still scouring bargain bins (Cheapo' me!) for some older Everything but the Girl albums but won't hesitate to buy new copies when i chance upon them. They're kinda popular and all HMV can give out are the recent ones (Electronica flavoured ones) which I'm afraid I already have. I'll keep trying tho'. Great work from great artists.
Free Music Review: MUST HAVE Hit: 5 StarsI have read some pretty lame reviews about this CD, but Amplified Heart is an album one can listen to everyday with a glass of wine and a good friend. You can play it from start to finish and relax while daily stress blends away. If you've ever had a shaky romance, this album will answer your questions and bring you back to being sane. EBGT produced a classic.
