Free Music Notes for Album of the YearFree Music Review: Yes it was the album of the year! Hit: 5 Stars
Faith no more is literally the greatest band ever. The positive reviews for this album were arguably low. Why? who knows. Angel dust still remains their best effort ever put out. But yet King for a day, and Album of the year still showcased Mike's, and the band's great talent. Jim Martin leaving the band really made no difference, let's just say the more metal guitar driven sound was gone and the band still kept it heavy, yet improved their diverse styles of music. The only real difference of FNM in this album, is that it is less experimental than Angel dust such as king for a day was. Metal at most times (they are a metal band, but they varied genres) and the usual slow soul inspired songs per se. So let's just say that they just improved into better musicians since The Real Thing. You call yourself a Faith No More fan, then just buy ALL their albums. Even the ones with Chuck which were still great, well at least the band but Chuck had a unique voice. But hey, there's not many out there who are a Mike Patton right? The last three albums had awesome covers, Album of the year is only the genuis of Faith No More. Last cup of sorrow is such a classic song along with Stripsearch. BUY IT!
Free Music Review: Stripped to the bone Hit: 5 Stars
Possibly their best effort - but with Faith No More it's hard to tell. After great deeds such as 'King For A Day' and the classic 'Angel Dust', this is their most complex and last record. A mix of alternative-hard-metal, it's weird - yet very listenable. "Collision" opens with heavy guitars and a familiar Patton-esque chorus. "Stripsearch" is a highlight, and it's quite easy to see why; it's alt-pop at it's best - not to be confused with Gorillaz [junk]. The third song, "Last Cup Of Sorrow", is probably the best - the words are so strong and the music is beautiful, despite being bold as FNM can get.Every song is unique in its own way. "Mouth To Mouth" and "Naked In Front Of The Computer" sound freshier than "new metal bands" (there's no way to compare, though) sound today, and even "She Loves Me Not" is a good demonstration of their musical diversity - the last one sounding like Patton covering Elvis Costello. If you're not a fan, you might as well want to listen to this album to take a peep at the most underrated band of the 90's at their peak; if you're a fan, you should get this album, enjoy the fine music and wish they get back together someday.
Free Music Review: Orgastic! Hit: 5 Stars
The opening track, Collision, is a heavy beginning with a few ingenious tricks in style. With electronic sounds that refresh its sighy atmosphere, Stripsearch takes the record in another direction, flowing coolly through into an ending of major power. Last Cup Of Sorrow (like Ashes To Ashes, another single track from AOTY) again demonstrates how inventive those guys can be with what would seem a normal classic kind of hard rock track, and after Naked In Front Of The Computer, another heavy track, Helpless shows Faith No More's new, moody and easy style (followed later in the album by She Loves Me Not and Home Sick Home). Mouth To Mouth's totally skizo verse rythm and pop/punk chorus make it a wonderful listening experience over and over again, with Got That Feeling continuing along the same lines of sharp rythmic vocal lines mixed with Collision's attitude. Paths Of Glory and the closing track Pristina are both heart-breakingly beautiful, as heavy in sound as they are. Album Of The Year, indeed.
Free Music Review: The End of The Best Hit: 5 Stars
With this amazing and undescriptible album, Faith No More ends his productive and breath-taking career. This was thier perfect final album. With the keyboards from Angel Dust and the guitars from King For a Day, they made their most balanced CD. The songs are so impressive, that can't be defined with words, you just have to listen to them. But, anyway, I would like to talk about every song of the album with just one word for each one:- Colission: Speed. - Stripsearch: Loneliness. - Last Cup of Sorrow: Thick. - Naked in Front of the Computer: Hardcore. - Helpless: Acoustic. - Mouth to Mouth: Oustanding. - Ashes to Ashes: Guitar. - She Loves me not: funny. - Got that feeling: Scream. - Paths of Glory: Darkest. - Home, sick Home: Strange. - Pristina: death. Their second best album (their best is Angel Dust).
Free Music Review: The best album of eternity Hit: 5 Stars
Faith No More is back again, and with this in mind ... the last and final album for the most talented band ever ... Album of the Year does not do justice to this album ... it goes farther than that ... you have the slow stuff ... Ashes to Ashes, Stripsearch, She Loves Me Not, and my fav. Helpless, then in your face stuff ... Collision, Mouth to Mouth, and Got that Feeling, and then unclassified stuff ... Last Cup of Sorrow, Naked in Front of The Computer, and Prestina ... all together the best album ever ... one the few cd's these days I can sit down and listen to not skipping a song ... and boy am I glad they got rid of Chuch Mosley ... Mike Patton, if you are out there ... don't give up, keep going because you are the best kept secert today
