Free Music Review: Sends chills down your spine.
Hit: 4 Stars

I was actually at this concert. And I gotta say, it sounds EXACTLY like it did on that hot June 22 night. Patrick still sends chills down my spine with "Golden" and I tap my legs and mouth along the words no matter how much I try to stop myself.

Nothing beats Fall Out Boy live, and if you can't catch them live, this is the second best thing. WELL worth the money!

Free Music Review: Solid CD for the price
Hit: 4 Stars

I have to admit when I first popped this in the CD player I thought the quality of the recording and the show were not great, but when I watched the included DVD of the show it sounded much better. I love FOB and with the time constraints this was definitely a great album. I got mine for 12 bucks; you can't beat that for a live cd/dvd with 8 videos on the DVD.

Free Music Review: Not bad but...
Hit: 3 Stars

Let me start off by saying I'm a huge FOB fan, I own all their albums so of course I had to buy this as soon as it came out. I've seen a few FOB live performances but this is my first time hearing a full concert (I've never seen them live). And well, I did like hearing the band play the tracks (some have slightly different arrangements since they're out of the studio -- "Thnks fr th mmrs" lacks the strings for example) but Patrick's singing wasn't that great. It's really obvious here that he's never had any vocal training (yeah yeah, they were an indie band from Chicago so that would explain that) but he's still "new" as a singer. He seems breathless at times (performing 15 songs for an hour is not a lot; I've been to concerts that were 2-3 hours with fine vocal performances) and there are points where I had a hard time understanding the words he was singing. (Don't get me wrong here, I LOVE Patrick and his voice, he could sing me a phonebook and I'd be happy)

Maybe it's because I grew up listening to the Eagles's live albums (Eagles Live and Hell Freezes Over, my mom's a huge fan) that I have sort of high expectations for live albums. If you can't sing/perform fantastic live, you kind of shouldn't be putting out a live CD. But FOB isn't bad or anything I just think that this release may have been too premature, maybe in another few years...

The only other thing that bothers me is that they stuck the studio version of "Beat It" right in the middle of the live tracks. I haven't watched the DVD yet but I'm assuming its placement was where "Beat It" was perfomred live. I would've rathered them leave "Beat It" live (or even cut it out) where it should be and then put the studio version at the beginning or end of the CD as a bonus track kind of thing. Putting the studio track in the middle of a live recording breaks the flow IMO.

But these are minor gripes, if you're a huge FOB fan you're going to buy it anyway but if you're not a huge huge fan, you can pass on this. There are better rock live albums.

Free Music Review: Good, but the show feels rushed....
Hit: 3 Stars

I would first like to start off by saying I am an AVID FOB fan. I've bought every album available to the public and loved them all.

I have to say the bands new direction with the Infinity on High Album was refreshing, but it just didn't feel like the FOB I know. Unfortunately this reflects in this live album.

Patricks voice is stunning in the older songs. Every major note and his vocal diddles pitch perfect. But on the new songs, it feels like he just isn't at home with his voice. Which really bothered me. The same with the guitar licks and pyro ques....everything seemed like it was rushed to fit in a time frame...

Have no doubt, I bought this album at midnight with the dvd. And it will dawn in my stereo for quite a long time...But unless you are a Fall Out Boy fan who knows the words to nearly every song by heart...This isn't for you. Its nothing even close to the recording quality that Blink 182 and Green Day had for their live albums....

Free Music Review: 3 stars for the set list only. Should be 2 stars
Hit: 3 Stars

I love FOB. Always have. All their albums are great, however I never realized how much editing has gone into each one.

The vocals on this album are awful. It's very disappointing since the set list is a perfect combination of old and new songs. Like I said in the title it gets 3 stars because of the songs, but it is brutal listening to every song being song off key.

This could have been an awesome disc. I'm sure the concert was great though since everyone was singing all the lyrics loud enough to drown out the bad intonation.
