Free Music Notes for Business Up Front/Party In The BackFree Music Review: the FORCE makes me wanna shake it like an earthquake. Hit: 5 StarsFamily Force 5 is a band that will blow you away as they did me. Their live shows are an absolute blast and unforgettable for anyone's taste. They do have what seems like cheezy lyrics at face value...but that's some of the charm of this band. They are silly, fun and enertaining. It's not meant to be totally serious. But it will SERIOUSLY get you going. If you put the Darkness, Linkin Park on crack, and RAGE against the machine in a blender...it would probably sound terrible. But this band doesn't sound terrible...it's awesome. Seriously, with definite influence from RAGE, and the rediculous obserdity of the darkess in their corner, the FORCE 5 will have you singing their melodies and chanting their lyrics for weeks and weeks. Buy the CD...and even better, catch them in Concert somewhere...it's amazing. I thought they were silly at first but with in 10 minutes they had me hooked and now I want to BE one of them. Just check them out.
Free Music Review: Shake It Like An Earthquake! Hit: 5 StarsThis cd is one of the most awesome breakout cd's I've heard in a long time. They've definitely got a unique style and I love blaring them as I'm driving in my car. I have yet to meet a person who didn't like the cd when I had them listen to it. I've had over 15 people listen to the cd. That's a wide variety and many of them don't share my normal tastes in music. Seriously, buy this album, support this band, there's not many people with these guys' talent.
Free Music Review: There's hope for music yet... Hit: 5 StarsI stumbled across FF5 online not long after reading an interview of theirs in a Christian indie band magazine. As soon as I heard 'Kountry Gentleman' on their website, it was all over.
Okay, music these days isn't always the most thoughtful or in-depth in content. Honestly, a lot of their lyrics aren't exactly philosophical. They're tongue-in-cheek, sometimes silly, but when you hear the album, it's clear that the purpose was to make eclectic and fun party music with a great message and a lot of energy to spare. I mean, anyone thay describes themselves as "five kids with ADD that forgot to take their Ritalin and broke into a Red Bull truck and drank it all" deserves a listen if only out of sheer curiosity!
Some standout tracks: Love Addict, Drama Queen, Earthquake, Replace Me, and Numb...though I gotta say there's never a dull moment on this CD, except when it ends. I'm looking forward to more great music from this band and will definitely jump at the chance to see them in concert if ever they come to the East Coast! They live out their faith and reach out to all who will listen, and I admire them for that. They've earned my respect for sure... :)
ROCK ON, FF5!
Free Music Review: Favorite with the whole family! Hit: 5 StarsI heard the song "Love Addict" on the radio and liked it so much decided to buy the cd. All of the songs are good. My only complaint is that it leaves you wishing there were more songs on the cd. Everyone in our family likes this group. It keeps getting passed back and forth between us.
Free Music Review: Not my usual style, but very addicting Hit: 4 StarsI first heard Family Force 5 when I went to the Alive Festival during the summer of this year (2006). Typically, I listen to pretty much all styles of music except for a lot of country and rap. FF5 manages to blend so many different sounds together and the result is pretty pleasing in the end.
The band is made up of 5 guys (3 brothers and 2 of their friends) all equipped with odd nicknames they go by (Crouton is the lead singer). Now, just from that you probably have an idea what the songs may be like, and you probably wouldn't be too far off. The lyrics are nothing to really think about as most of it is so off the wall that it borders being nonsense, but they put it together and deliver it with such force that you can't deny its catchiness.
By blending 80's rock, beat-boxing, break dancing, rap, electronic synth, and other styles they have cultivated a party dance style all their own. While it may not be something that you would listen to on an every day basis, it is definately fun to drive to. Especially if you are out with a bunch of friends, the music is just fun.
Oh and by the way, if you get the chance to see them live, do it. They are great entertainers. Basically there are people pretty much flying everywhere on stage (and that's just them, not even the crowd).
