Free Music Notes for The Director's CutFree Music Review: Only ONE flaw... Hit: 5 Stars
As far as I can tell, this incredible album only has one flaw... and it's that the songs are WAY too short. I mean, don't you wish songs like Experiment In Terror, Spider Baby, Henry, Vendetta and Der Golem ran for more than just 2 - 3 minutes? I'd LOVE to hear a 5 minute version of Experiment. What a freakin amazing song that is. And Henry, geez, that's over before I have a chance to fall in love with it. Thankfully, Investigation Of A Citizen Above Suspicion is a towering 4 minutes long. That's a VERY great song.Minor flaw, doesn't even dent the 5-star rating. It's too bad Patton's music isn't appreciated by more people. (and why do stupid boybands get Grammys while amazing stuff like Fantomas doesn't even EXIST AT ALL to those posh morons? I guess I answered my own question).
Free Music Review: Music doesn't get much better than this. Hit: 5 Stars
Just like any other project that Mike Patton gets involved with, Fantomas new album The Director's Cut is innovative and so much fun to listen to. It's a collection of film soundtrack covers of movies old and new, played by the four most eclectic musicians in metal (Mike Patton, Trevor Dunn, Buzz Osbourne, and Dave Lombardo.)Their treatments of every song are thought-provoking and very well-crafted. Every track is fantastic, but if I had to choose my five favorites, they'd be probably be "Charade", "Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me", "Investigation of a Citizen Under Suspicion", "Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer", and "The Omen (Ave Satani)". Music for people who like music is the best way I can describe it. This album rules.
Free Music Review: because i can't give it 20 stars Hit: 5 Stars
ok, we know who's in the band. anyone reading into this album knows the other "mp" bands. the first cd was amazing. this cd is equally amazing in it's own way. but would you believe after seeing them open for tool, i left. tool can't compare to this music. if i was in a band, i would quit. nothing is music compared to this. tool, staind(zzzzzzzz), nickelback, blink182, limp noodle... they're not bands. they don't play music. they are pre-packaged products. can you honestly say that any of these radio prostitutes have or will ever produce a lasting contribution to music as we know it? if you said "yes", you don't deserve fantomas. it's too late for you. they've already got to you.
Free Music Review: Patton's apogee Hit: 5 Stars
Did you ever listened to Fantômas? Did anyone ever told you about this band? Have you ever travelled the world of horror and suspense,on a simple CD? The director's cut is the one you've been waiting for! Some say that FNM was lead singer Mike Patton's apogee. Well, I do think that The Director's Cut is probably the best metal album ever. Patton has never been so open-minded with his vocal capacities and makes you drown in this experiment in terror(!).Slayer's ex-drummer Dave Lombardo,Melvins guitarist Buzz Osbourne, Mr.Bungle and Secret Chiefs 3 bassist Trevor Dunn and Mike Patton (Bungle,Lovage,FNM...)are the quartet from hell that plays chef-d'oeuvre. A must for all of you who aren't afraid...
Free Music Review: brilliant Hit: 5 Stars
brilliant!brilliant!brilliant!what a great idea for this band, to do their own versions of movie themes.mike patton is god.how i would love to see them live, especially doing this album in it's entirety.this is my first experience with this group and definitely not my last.just when i thought that mr.bungle couldn't be topped in originality.if you hate all this saturated pop/emo crap being forced fed through radio and rolling stone magazine, and have an open-mind(imagine that these days)than i strongly suggest checking this out.this album seriously blew me away.fantomas actually gives me the desire to want to start seeing shows again.i beg this band to visit florida.
