Free Music Notes for The Director's Cut

Free Music Review: I've seen them live and I love them and this disc!!
Hit: 5 Stars

I saw them live at "The Quest" in St. Paul Minnesota. They started the show off with the Godfather Theme from this album and I got chills. I can never get sick of this cd. There isn't a single [bad] track here. If you're sick of mainstream metal (which is incredibly stale) you have to get this. "Spider Baby" is a awesome song and so is "Investigation of a Citizen Above Suspicion." The frist Fantomas cd is also great and you might as well get the live one with the Melvins. They have a new album coming out this summer too and I am so giddy it's embarrassing. I played all of this on a radio show, people need to hear this. It's morally imperative.

Free Music Review: fun music..
Hit: 5 Stars

First, stop trying to label this music! It was not written for you to put your finger on. If you want to know what this sounds like listen to the damn thing! If you cant..well this is the best I can do. Its more demented than stephen king, more talented than your cousin who can play the piano with his toes, it has more vision than vincent price, and more inspiring than hidalgo. Mike Patton is a genius there is no question. If you are sick of the same old albums being written over and over again then go pick this up, and for hells sakes stop trying to compare this to anything else, just put on your dancing shoes and turn out the lights.

Hit: 5 Stars

wonderful, wonderful album.

i'd like to comment on someone asking why so few people said anything about john zorn...maybe becuase john zorn HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS ALBUM??? i mean, i'm not gonna put the guy down, his naked city stuff is WICKED (black box is a gem), but i'll take patton any day.

anyway, about this album...if this album only came with the godfather theme, i'd give it 5 stars. ohhhh the speed, the...EVERYTHING.

i prefer their first album, actually, but this one is essential as well. spend your hard earned money on it, you won't be disapointed.

Free Music Review: Pure Frickin' Genius
Hit: 5 Stars

This is great. Come on. The Godfather? Rosemary's Baby? Cape Fear? Twin Peaks? The Omen? All amazing scores. All of them. Now take the musicians. Mike Patton? King Buzzo? Dave Lombardo? Some of my favorites. Now make them do covers of said scores. The result is FREAKING GREAT. I'm in love with this album. If I ever put it down, I want you to find me and hurt me. I was hooked when I heard Patton's vocals on The Godfather: Wey-ha! Wey-ha! YAYAYAYAYA WEEEEEE!! Great. Great. Perfect. Stupendous. Insane. Sometimes over the top. Still insane.

Free Music Review: The other reviewers said it best!

All I can say on my behalf is that I admire Mike Patton for the same reason I admire someone like Tim Burton and i'm just grateful that they have the money to be able to assemble great works like this! One of the coolest things about this album is that it makes you have to check out the composers that originally wrote this material to completely appreciate this album, and THAT, my friends....opens a whole new door to the musical world! Thanks Mike! IPECAC FOREVER!!!!! YAY!!
