Free Music Notes for The Director's CutFree Music Review: Mr. Dick approves Hit: 5 Stars
It is more structured than Patton's recent releases. Good thing or not, it is refreshing. The structure comes from that of horror movie scores that have been twisted and contorted to become an entirely new creature. It is catchy (yes I did it, Patton and catchy in the same review) and grown on you like a cancer. It has become a mainstay in my car CD player to the dismay of some of my friends (ok, most). A sure bet for Patton fans, even those who bailed out at Disco Volante.
Free Music Review: Mike Patton creates another masterpiece Hit: 5 Stars
Weird, out of control, strange, and awesome are 4 thoughts that come to mind when listening to this album. It is Mike Patton from Faith No More and Dave Lombardo from Slayer...it doesn't get too much better than this! Though it won't be suitable for all audiences, this album gives a unique spin on several classic movie tunes...listen to "The Godfather" once and you will understand just how great this band is.
Free Music Review: a wonderful nightmare Hit: 5 Stars
mike patton`s fantomas, the director`s cut,is a masterpiece of mayhem.fantomas is as diverse as mike pattons vocal range,to me, the best singer, songwriter of our era.you `ll be hard pressed to describe these masters of chaos,i would suggest listening to a few tracks before buying, but every song is different and demented in it`s own way,if your sick of predictable music, give this one a chance,
Free Music Review: BREATHE LIFE INTO CLAY Hit: 5 Stars
Jesus. I loved Faith No More. I ADORE Mr. Bungle. And this...this band...I'm so happy, I can't stop crying. "The Director's Cut" is a mesh of the experimentation of "Disco Violente", the mass appeal (Yes, MASS APPEAL) of FNM, and of course, the massive musical talent of the first Fantomas album. Other than Bungle's self-titled, this is my favorite album.
Free Music Review: Sheer Brilliance Hit: 5 Stars
At first I didn't like Fantomas, because I was hooked on Mr Bungle and FNM. However, upon hearing the original compositions, I must say that Patton and gang are true geniuses. Their remake of Experiment in Terror is outstanding, Der Golem is scary as, and Henry: Portrait of A Serial Killer is spooky as well. Listen to this on headphones and spin yourself out even more!
