Free Music Notes for FastwayFree Music Review: My #1 Hard Rock album of all time Hit: 5 StarsThis album is hauntingly moving. Recently I compiled a list of my top hard rock albums of all time and this album rose to #1 among thousands of that I considered. You just have to hear it. It's a solidly consistent album with the highlight being the track, "Heft". Fastway have a unique bluesy feel intertwined in their melodic, driving beat.
Free Music Review: Great Hit: 5 StarsRock Record. Driving, solid with a lot of energy. Just a great Disc from start to finish and was one of the best Rock CD's (records) of the 80's. Pick it up.
Free Music Review: Discover this Band Hit: 4 StarsFastway just couldn't break into the upper tier of metal acts in the 1980's and I'm not sure why? Give this disk a listen, and you'll see that the band had a knack for writing great rock music. Tunes like "All I Need is Your Love" and "Feel Me, Touch Me" are instantly catchy, and stay with you long after the disk is over. Fast Eddie's guitar work is fantastic! Check out that cool riff on "Say What You Will", that song should have been a staple on metal radio. The song "Heft" is great. It's an odd little tune with a killer bass and drum combo. If Pete Way was playing bass on this disk, then he is responsible for two of my favorite undiscovered bands "Fastway" and "Waysted", and "Heft" may be one of the coolest tunes from the era. You can't go wrong picking up this disk for under $10.
Free Music Review: Fans Of This Album Hit: 4 Stars...should check out the "Trick Or Treat" soundtrack, it's basically their 2nd album, with Fastway doing the entire score. It's every bit as good as this debut album. I also saw them open for AC/DC in 1983, they were great live. I remember liking this album very much as a kid.
As stated they have more of a Zeppelin feel, to go along with the 80's heavy metal sound. Like AC/DC and Judas Priest and early Ozzy, Fastway was a respectable 80's hard rock/metal band.
Free Music Review: Top of The Line Rock Hit: 5 StarsI have loved the CD ever since it was an Album. I owned this Album when it first came out and now I own the CD. I have all, I repeat ALL the tracks ripped to my MP3 player. Every song on this CD rocks. Amazing how Pete Way missed out on being part of this band and decided to start the band Waysted. The name of the band is made up of "Fast" Eddie from Motorhead on guitar and Pete Way from UFO. Pete backed out at the last minute and Fast Eddie, Jerry Shirley (Humble Pie fame) and Dave King, put together a CD that rocks all the way through. Not one bad song. I put it up there with AC/DC's Highway To Hell and Back In Black, as well as Led Zeppelin's Zoso. There are a few other CDs that I could also put in the "no bad song on the CD" category, but only AC/DC and Zep come to mind (Just thought of Aerosmith - Rocks).
Don't miss out on this CD, you won't regret it.
