Free Music Notes for Elephant in the RoomFree Music Review: 8th solo is another good one Hit: 4 Stars
Just 16 months since his last album, Fat Joe returns with his 8th solo album, and another good one. I have 6 of his albums, and half I'd give 4 stars half I'd give 4.5 stars. Short like most of his albums with only 12 songs, you get 1 almost classic, 5 ar eok, and the other 6 are good. Guests aren't too heavy, rapping on just 2 of the songs and doing the hooks on about half. Production is decent, not as good as he usually has but still pretty good. LV & Sean C, and Street Runner each do 2 songs, Cool & Dre, Steve Morales & J Starz, Danja, Scott Storch, DJ Premier, Alchemist, Swizz Beats, and DJ Khaled each do 1 song. A nice album for his fans to have, not his est but still worth while.

Free Music Review: Crack!!!!!!!! Hit: 4 Stars
Do you know Fat Joe got the name Joey Crack not because of his drug dealing ways but because when he was a kid everytime he bent over you could see his butt crack! Lol Just a random fact. But one the real Fat Joe has been one of the most consistant artist over the last 15 years. He has so many 4 mic albums in my opinion, although he may not be the best rapper around. The Dj Premier track "That White" is just crazy Ill! Just straight NY hip-hop. The single w/ J. Holiday is good not great as well. The rest of the songs are done by the runners/Cool &Dre/Dj Khaleed(Beat Novacane) & they did great here, as the always do for Joey Crack. If You like good music make this purchase, plus this album is waaaaaay better than CURTIS! 50 Cent is a clown at times!
Free Music Review: From start to finish Hit: 4 Stars
This guy is so underrated. I loved it on the first listen, 4 stars. No instant classics or major hit singles here, though I personally like a few of the tracks quite a bit... lyrics are tight, some good production from some well known producers (Scott Storch, Swiss Beatz, Danja, DJ Kaled). Pretty up tempo tracks... one of those CDs you can throw in & listen to all the way through from start to finish over & over again.
Free Music Review: (2.5 Stars) Can't Bare To Be In The Same Room! Hit: 3 Stars
An "elephant in the room" is described as a problem that everybody knows exists but nobody bothers to bring it up because it would be too humiliating. Such is the case with Fat Joe's doomed rap career. Anybody that's paid any attention to the declining sales and popularity of Joey Crack knows that it's only a matter of time before the inevitable happens. His crew knows it; that's why the Terror Squad has had more lineup changes than Must See TV. So with the collection of unimpressive tracks on Elephant In The Room, Fat Joe substantiates everybody's beliefs that he's fast approaching that exit ramp that has been visited by the likes of Ja Rule, DMX, and soon 50 Cent. "K.A.R. (Kill All Rats)" is one of the few tracks that actually sounds decent, with a throwback to early Fat Joe . "I Won't Tell" with singer J. Holiday is another track that is at least listenable. But the album standout has to be his collaboration with KRS-One, a pairing that actually works out for the song "My Conscience." But the rest of the album is either uninspiring or too bland to even force yourself to listen to. "Ain't Saying Nothing" featuring Plies unfortunately lives up to its name, Lil Wayne provides little for "The Crackhouse," and the failed attempt at a pseudo dance track with "Cocababy." DJ Khaled does his usual role of being an annoying hypeman and mediocre producer for the track "Get It For Life." Scott Storch fails miserably with the production on "Preacher On A Sunday Morning," a song that just sounds like a bad idea from one glance at the title. And Swizz Beatz gives Fat Joe a decent up-tempo track to rock called "Drop," but Fat Joe doesn't work it like a classic DMX or Eve track. Things don't look good for Fat Joe. He has a crew that is practically non-existent (a la Flipmode Squad), yet another failed album (well, barely an album considering it doesn't even clock in at 45 minutes), and a stupid beef with another doomed rapper (pay attention to how well 50 Cent's Before I Self Destruct does whenever it comes out).
Free Music Review: *Tosses CD aside* Hit: 3 Stars
Fat Joe has been around for years. I can recall a time when he and Big Punisher were rarely seen without each other. I somewhat enjoy his past hits, but, put it this way, he doesn't have any songs on my iPod. At his best, he's a good lyricist who brings much energy, but he doesn't seem to have any distinction about himself besides the fact that he's a Puerto Rican rapper, but that has nothing to do with his rapping ability. "The Elephant in the Room" is an okay album, but there isn't a memorable second here. Actually, I can remember one thing: J. Holiday is featured here and he does a good job. Other than that, there is nothing at all special about this album. Lil' Wayne is even featured, but he did nothing to boost this album in any way.
This is a short album with a running time of just forty-six minutes. The album begins with a pretty good effort entitled "The Fugitive" (did this title remind anyone else of that old television show?) The hook isn't strong and the beat is basic, but his energy jumps out at you and the lyrics aren't bad at all. This song is kind of enjoyable. "K.A.R" has an alright beat, yet a lame hook. The lyrics, though, are incredible! The words and one-liners give this song lots of replay value. J. Holiday adds flavor to the album on "I Won't Tell." This song has one of the best beats found here. Overall, it's a good moment on the album.
I can't totally knock Joey Crack for this album for I have surely heard worse, but it is a bit too inconsistent for my taste. It's decent, though and if you do purchase it, you'll probably enjoy it, even if you only enjoy portions.
