Free Music Notes for The ReminderFree Music Review: I Don't Normally Write Reviews, But This is a Must Hit: 5 Stars
I did not even know that this was the same singer on that iPod commercial until I bought the cd. That song aside (a decent song ruined by Apple overuse), this is one h@%% of a cd. In a day and age when it is impossible to hear two songs in a row on a cd, it is very refreshing to pop this baby in and experience a wide range of moods as the themes harmoniously flow from track to track. There is nothing more for me to say, buy the cd - excellent voice, writing and melodies. Also, if you are a big fan of this cd, I also recommend the unknown but similarly talented Sasha Dobson (Modern Romance CD).
Free Music Review: Lovely voice, wonderful interpretations Hit: 5 Stars
I just loved that iPod commercial, so I decided to do a search for "1234, 1234," and Feist came up. I don't usually download an album on a whim (I usually like to look at the cover art and buy the CD), but this time I had to thave it. I was not disappointed. I'm going to burn a CD for the car, because this is just amazing stuff.
Feist's voice has that strange little catch in it that really brings emotion into the music. She's not a classically great singer, but her slightly off-kilter alto voice really brings these songs home. I have found a new favorite here. Thank you, Apple!
Free Music Review: Feist found her sound Hit: 5 Stars
Leslie Feist pulled in a slew of friends to create this album. No full covers are featured on this album, which is a definite contrast from her experimental "Let It Die" album. "The Reminder" seems to hold onto a simpler, more earthy vibe, complete with Feist's unforgetable vocals. Even the melodica is used in some tracks, which should testify on its own that this will be a wonderful indie folk pop album. I suggest listening to "So Sorry", "I Feel It All", "1234", and "Sea Lion Woman". However, all of the songs are amazing, and I can easily listen to this CD in it's entirety.
Free Music Review: The most beautiful Music. Hit: 5 Stars
3. My Moon My Man--from chocolat cell phone commercial, catchy after a few listens
5. The Water--another favorite
6. Sealion--sound like See Line Woman, very pretty, reminds me of great Jazz singers of the past
7. Past In Present--very country/folkish feel, works wonderfully
8. The Limit To Your Love--"like a waterfall in slow-motion"
9. 1234--Best song on CD, greatest pick-me-up, make me feel great song
11. Intuition--sparse and pretty
A rare cd that gets listened too from beginning to end.
Free Music Review: Excellent (just another glowing review) Hit: 5 Stars
I don't really have anything profound to say, or anything much different than the other glowing reviews here. I just absolutely love, love this album. I hear something different every time I listen to it and it's always good. Her voice is in a class all it's own, and it's so beautiful and lyrical to listen to. I love the different faces of Feist throughout each of her songs. This album came from someone who truly loves music, and who truly enjoys expressing herself through music.
I love Feist! And I dearly love this album.
