Free Music Notes for The ReminderFree Music Review: I had no idea how great it'd be! Hit: 5 Stars
Admittedly, I have become a sucker for CDs under $12. I had heard one song from this album on "Grey's Anatomy" and then saw the CD for $10. This is one of the best CD purchases I have made in the last year, and keep in mind that I purchase about 50 CDs a year. It is perfect in composition and I have yet to find a song that I skip over. Instead, I have about 5 songs that I find myself going back to over and over! Do yourself a favor and invest in this CD.
Free Music Review: One of the best of 2007 Hit: 5 Stars
I am just getting turned on to Feist. Although there are two previous albums, I am starting with The Reminder and working back. The beats are really fresh and the melodies will play through your head long after you turn the CD off.
Another great band on the scene is The Everybodyfields. I just recently started listening to their tunes and am overwhelmed with the harmonies in their latest album Nothing Is Okay. Check them out!
Free Music Review: Not just a pretty TV ad. Hit: 5 Stars
Don't go by the TV ad she does for Ipod or I-whatever. That's a catchy pop song, but the whole CD is much more than that. She changes moods and her voice on many of the songs to actually create a mood. I bought this CD before I noticed the song "1234" on TV. It took me few times hearing it, to realize I had it on the recording. That's how different each song is, you can't categorize her easily, but it's all good, it's excellent.
Free Music Review: feistier! Hit: 5 Stars
This is a great album, perhaps better than her first. Leslie Feist has written more of these songs than on the first album and this is no loss. Not only does she still have the great sweet throaty voice, the arrangements have emotional depth. A fantastic sophomore offering. If you haven't heard her, you're missing out on a great new singer-songwriter with a punk inflection from Canada. Pick up either album and groove along.
Free Music Review: AMAZING! Hit: 5 Stars
I am so glad I found Leslie Feist! Her sound is completely unique, and there is such a great variety of sounds and songs on this album. My three year old daughter screams for me to play her in the car (and she's got great taste in music!). She's like a combination of Dido, Shawn Colvin, Suzanne Vega and Ani DiFranco all rolled up into one...and that doesn't even really describe it, she is really her own person.
