Free Music Notes for The ReminderFree Music Review: New Talent Hit: 5 StarsFeist is a new singer/songwriter whose works don't easily fit any musical category. The tunes are catchy and make you want to play them over and over, but there is a deeper story in the lyrics of the joys and anguish of love and relationships, separation and reconnection. The song structures are each new creations that don't seem to follow any current fad. Her voice and guitar riffs are crisp and clear. Once you listen to her you keep coming back to listen again picking some musical or lyrical nuance you missed before, such as the subtle sound of a car door closing and shoes clicking down a sidewalk.
Free Music Review: I Don't Get It Hit: 1 StarsFor the life of me, I don't get what the hype is. She does indeed sound like a junior high kid on YouTube. I can't really address the lyrics because she is almost impossible to understand. I downloaded the songs, so maybe if you buy the CD it has a lyric sheet. I guess it's good music for commercials when you're only half listening to 15 second clips.
Free Music Review: cant see why this made anyones best of 2007 Hit: 1 StarsI bought this based on hype , it was on a best of 2007 list.
What were they thinking???
Free Music Review: 1234, I Feel it all Hit: 5 StarsLeslie Feist has a beautiful voice. Her music has a light and simple sound. The lyrics are clean and sung well, the music is catchy and airy. Genera considered folk, pop, and light rock.
Free Music Review: A beautiful album Hit: 5 StarsI've had this CD on constantly over the past month. It's a little gem - I never seem to get tired of it. The emphasis here is on good songwriting and precise vocals. If you're into indie-folk-pop music (Kings of Convenience, say, or Iron & Wine), you'll enjoy this.
