Free Music Review: Glamorous = SMASH HIT
Hit: 5 Stars

Heard the song GLAMOROUS on the radio and swept me off my feet. This gal can sing and tells her story with passion. Got home and looked up the video on MTV, very rewarding video. Best Video I've ever seen , production is unreal in term s of creativity. The shooting of the video tells the story perfectly, matches the rhythum and beat of the music. We get to see a slice of east LA 1990's culture, first scene is the pool party at "Backyard Kegger" East LA 1994, Fergie was 18 at the time, the danceing is out of this world (Wish I could dance like a few of these guys), everyone having fun and its times like this that Fergie had her beginnings, her roots. Her reminisce's lets us know these are the times that make her who she is. Big Money was not her world back then , and she realized after stardom things money can buy can't replace the good old days and fond memories. I loved Fergie with friends in the Mustang and drives off with her junk food and doesn't pay for it. "let the good times".
She lets us know her fans are what got her to where she's at. Real classy lady to acknowledge her fans are her friends, she's not into the ego thing. Love her outfit boarding her private jet. WOW factor high! The curves are sweet.
She sings with passion and the video shows her in her love embrace for music. Voicing comes from deep soul, high spirit.
Her accompanying singers rock as well, the video is one of the best I've seen on MTV. Her we have a true smash hit. The production, film crew all worked hard to make this video into high ramp quality. Dave meyers was the director, and what a video he mastered!!!
Though I'm pretty much into classical music, music like this can't be missed and is "hot stuff". Whatever other songs on the cd are as fine as Glamorous, well thats 'all gravy" I've seen the video all afternoon and think I'll see a few more plays before bed.
Fergie will be up on the Grammy stage quite a few times and she well deserves the awards. Not often music comes along with this quality of soul. But here it is, GLAMOROUS.
My cd is one the way. Someone get this classy gal in a movie. I can see acting in her stars.

EDIT: CD in.
The quality of music on this cd makes this project a major release. Everyone who worked to make this music become a REALITY deserves very special congrats, major acheivement that breaks new ground in pop culture music. Truly sets new standards within this style, music that speaks the soul of a generation. Every now and then something unique comes along to make it above just 'pop" to a special category which in every epoch and culture is called "classic folk", music that speaks the spirit of a generation.
This cd has songs that cover a broad range of styles, even to reggae with MARY JANE SHOES. The song LOSING MY GROUND didn't hold up as well next to the other tracts though even here Fergie's vocals come through with new dimensions and shows the powerful talents of this stellar vocalist.
Moving on to a song that I was totally blown away, is the tract #3, ALL THAT I GOT. Back in my pop days of 1967 we called songs (Brian Jones' song RUBY TUESDAY/Rolling Stones was such a one..and no Mick J only sang it well, he had nothing to do with the writing) that went far above the top hits that were out on the radio, "Off the chart", meaning nothing even compares with it. "its unreal". ALL THAT I GOT is just that quality in every aspect. Lyrics, music, vocals all work with such a level of soul (which is where the best music comes from) where depth of emotions are released and sweep over the listener. Fergie's level of singing rises to breathtaking heights and sparkles with soul filled magic. If Fergie's lines and vocals wasn't enough, we get a top rap vocalist Bridge bringing in his supertalents with lines that knock one off the feet. Ck this out "Back to the 5 and 6 > I'm all in the mix > And I'm all into you > Without the lipstick > Without the L'Oreal > You remain the same > Angel that I fell for you > For real, for real" .
Thanks you Fergie and the crew!

The Dutchess Poster

If you thought Black Eyed Pea-sized bites of Fergie might be all you could handle--that a full plate of Fergie is possibly too much for any discerning musical palate--The Dutchess might change your mind. For here the lumpen lady throws caution to the wind and threads her pop needle with an ambitious ribbon of yet-to-be-conquered genres: reggae and ska on "Mary Jane Shoes," with Rita Marley; vintage soul on "Here I Come"; '80s hip-hop on "Fergalicious"; and sophisticated R&B on the John Legend-assisted "Finally." It's a tremendous and unpredictable expenditure of effort that mostly pays off--echoes of more talented vocalists like Pink, Beyoncé, and Christina Aguilera poke through in places. But while unbridled messing about can pay handsome artistic dividends (here, the guitar-propelled rock-like track "Big Girls Don't Cry" coughs them up), ultimately it's when Fergie's at her Peas-iest that she's most lovable; cases in point are the raunchily irresistible "London Bridge," which earned every week of its chart-topping success, and the will.i.am-assisted "Clumsy," a girl-group-styled bump-a-thon that showcases Fergie's coolest and most distinctive asset--her personality--to winning effect. --Tammy La Gorce
