Free Music Review: Bow Down to the Dutchess
Hit: 5 Stars

Bow down to the Dutchess because Fergie delivers. This a fun, catchy album full of club hits, soft ballads, reggae tunes, and coy love songs. There is a great mix of songs on this album and I like how its just not a bunch of "London Bridge"-esque songs. Fergie reveals her beautiful voice on this album, and everyone who claimed she had no talent should rethink their biased opinions and listen to these soulful songs where Fergie's vocals soar high and make for an enjoyable experience. She's not some breathy, sing-talker like Paris or Jessica, but an actual soprano who can hit those high notes effortlessly.

I wasn't sure how I was going to like the CD. I bought it on a whim, and mostly for the amazingness that is "London Bridge." But I was blown away by this strong and solid album. Heck, I've barely listened to "London Bridge" since I got the CD because there are so many tracks that outshine it.

"Fergalicious" is a fun club track, similar to "London Bridge." It will definitely stick in your head for a while. It's pure fun, and will probably be a single.

"Clumsy" and "All That I Got" are mid-tempo love songs that have a very syrupy sweet sound to them. They're fun and stylish and Fergie's voice sounds very coy and sexy. The CD is off to a great start!

"London Bridge" is of course, the song we all know. You either hate it or love it. If you hate it, why are you bothering to write a review where you bash Fergie? I find those reviews quite pointless, but I digress. I love this song. Its the perfect dance song and its so catchy and fun.

"Pedestal" is another coy-sounding track, but with a great upbeat tune. Fergie sounds very sultry on this one. You'll be clapping along with the music.

"Voodoo Doll" may be the only track I'm skipping right now. But who knows, it might grow on me. Its more of a dance song, but wouldn't be my favorite.

"Glamorous" is similar to Gwen Stefani's "Luxiorious." It's fun enough, but is only okay. Not a standout track in my opinion.

"Here I Come" is another great party song. I think it samples a song from The Temptations. There's this great jazzy sound to it that is enjoyable.

"Velvet" slows things down and Fergie's sultry, sexy voice shines through this one. It has a very sensual sound without overtly sexual overtones.

"Big Girls Don't Cry" is one of my favorites. It's another slow song, and Fergie sounds amazing on this one. I like the lyrics a lot, and she seems to channel a little Kelly Clarkson. Definitely single-worthy.

"Mary Jane Shoes" is a reggae-influenced song (with some hard rock at the end of the song). I love this one- makes me want to go on vacation to thr Caribbean.

"Losing My Ground" is a great rock/pop song, and reminds me of something Ashlee Simpson might sing. I really like how Fergie has such a variety of songs on this album. There's a little bit of everything.

"Finally" is the perfect way to end the album. A truly personal and beautiful song, Fergie is at her best on this one. Very Christina Aguilera-like. You could listen to this one over and over again. The lyrics are very inspirational, and Fergie soars on the high notes at the end.

So yeah, as you can see this album is a gem. I think a lot of people give Fergie a lot of crap, but if they would listen to this album I think they would see how enjoyable it is. It's fun, dancey, catchy, and beautiful. Give it a try. There's something on it for everyone.

Free Music Review: T-T-T-T-T-T-TASTY, TASTY
Hit: 5 Stars

Fergie should be nominated for a grammy. this cd is awesome. it has a smorgasbord of different genres and each song stands out. it contains rap, hip-hop, pop, reggae, latin. here is my rating for each song:

1. Fergalicious- 2nd single. the most popular song on the album. i hear people at school singing it all the time. i even went to the christina aguilera concert and they played this song during the break and everyone was singing it, even me. 5/5

2. Clumsy- cute song about falling in love. it has a sample of a song that says "girl can't help it", but i don't know what song it is. i just heard other people talking about it in their reviews. 4/5

3. All That I Got- great song. should be the next single. she wants to know if her boyfriend would love her if she wasn't as pretty as she is (hair color, fit body, make-up, etc.). 5/5

4. London Bridge- "Oh, Snap"! this song is a wake up song in case you are falling asleep while listening to the whole thing through. it was her 1st single, but they stopped playing it as soon as "fergalicious" was released. it is a great song, even though it has no melody (lol). it's just plain rap, but she kind of sings a little bit towards the middle. since i like hip-hop music, i love this song, even though it is slightly perverted. 5/5

5. Pedestal- 3/5

6. Voodoo Doll- 4/5

7. Glamorous- "If you ain't got no money, take your broke a** home". 3rd single. right now, it is at #1 on the billboard chart. she talks about living the good life. "Ooh, flossy, flossy". when i first heard that, i imagined her flossing her teeth in the video, but that's not what she means by "flossy, flossy". i don't even know what she means by that. 5/5

8. Here I Come- Contains a sample of "Get Ready' by the temptations. i actually know that song because i sang it in choir. i will be happy if this one ends up as a single. 4/5

9. Velvet- 3/5

10. Big Girls Don't Cry- the best song ever! i hope it becomes a single. i absolutely love it! 5/5

11. Mary Jane Shoes- reggae-flavored track. it sounds like music you would hear in the bahamas. but at the end, it speeds up to fast rock. 5/5

12. Losing My Ground- sounds a little like latin music. 4/5

13. Finally- reminds me a little of natasha bedingfield's "wild horses", which is the last track on her album, too. it also has a hidden track, but it's not much. 4/5

She did a great job on this album. i hope she keeps it up. i think that the reason she did a great job on this album because it's her debut album. i think that the record company writes the artist songs that give them a head-start. after that, they are free to do their own stuff. but sometimes, they aren't as successful on their sophomore album as their debut album. this happened with beyonce, gwen stefani. for other artists, there are reversed effects. artists like kelly clarkson, rihanna, akon, nelly furtado and justin timberlake (only because they both met timbaland). the pussycat dolls had about five singles. i think that they are releasing their new album this summer. i hope they don't make a dud album like kevin federline's album; especially since they are adding a new member, which would make them look very bad and would have to get rid of the member.

Free Music Review: Well, *I* like fun music, and this exceeds what I want really. ;-D
Hit: 5 Stars

Fergie is an Aries. Me, a Taurus. I like her lively, fun and free-spirit, and her lyrics are super-funny, if not mindless...

"Every time I get up on a Dude/Poparazzi put my business in the news/Get up out my face/Before I spray Your a__ with mace/My looks make You wanna have a taste/"

Fergalicious - Upbeat, and the production is so addictive. Almost as bad as crack, I *assume*, thank You. 4.25/5

Clumsy - Fun beat, decent if not relate-able lyrics. 5/5

All That I Got (The Make Up Song) - Love the slowed-down, R&B vibe. Totally unexpected from Fergie, which isn't good, but great! 5.25/5

London Bridge - Lovely cause it's fun, it's sassy and definitely demands your attention. Decent pop ditty. 4.25/5

Pedestal - OK beat. Unnecessary as a whole. 2.5/5

Voodoo Doll - Much better than Pedestal. MUCH better. Hot beat, very, very jazzy; smooth. Great vocals. Love Fergie. Now only if she's pen a song or four... 5/5

Glamorous - Lovely anthem about being an anti-celeb, of sorts. 4.5/5

Here I Come - Really cute. 5/5

Velvet - Crazy-dreamy beat, and vocals that just melt your soul. Seriously, We may JUST have to watch out for this Chick. If She starts to write, then She will be more than an Entertainer - An Artist, She will be! 5.5/5

Big Girls Don't Cry - Nice, modern-time ballad. 4.25/5

Mary Jane Shoes - Samples "No Woman, No Cry" and many People will hate it for that reason! But I like it. The lyrics are far from deep, and speak on nice, Mary Jane Shoes. My aunt who is also an Aries, is the same - Super-crazy bout shoes! haha. Decent song. The rock anthem part is wicked. I love it. Pop-Rock at its funnest! 4.4/5

Losing My Ground - A ballad(?) about being so lost, you can't even figure out who that damn person is, staring at you in that bloody mirror. This was probably when Fergie was strung out on LSD...:-( 4/5

Finally - Nice ballad about finding oneself, FINALLY. After all of the strife, pain and hard times, she's finally HER. To say that I can relate to this is a heavy understatement. Then it has a bluesy feel, towards the end, for the outro. Love it. Makes you wanna be with your lover! :X 5.25/5

I seriously never dreamed that I'd rate a FERGIE album a near 5. Who knew that they'd lace Her with an album this...smooth?! It's really scary how GOOD this CD is. But please, if You do anything, DON'T categorize this as Hip-Hop/Rap. That's a BIG misconception.
It's not really R&B either, although some songs will pull You in, tricking You into thinking so. This is POP music. Pure and simple. Bye, now. And buy this album after You read this. Even if it's used. So what? Just get it!!!

Overall: A+

EDIT: Now that I know Fergie has co-wrote EVERYTHING on the album I am relieved. I didn't think she wrote a lick! ;-D

Free Music Review: Fergalicious!!!!!!
Hit: 5 Stars

Fergie is to The Black Eyed Peas is what Gwen Stefani is to No Doubt. She stands out, you knew she always had the potential to do something solo; you just did not know when. Also, like, Gwen, Fergie is a trendsetter, a great songwriter and is a chameleon when it comes to music. With all of those attributes combined: it is no wonder her 1st single: "London Bridge" sat at number 1 for many weeks and it is also no wonder why this CD is a Homerun!

Fergie seems to tackle every style of music out there and does it with an A+ each and every time! Though the CD is dominated by her tongue in cheek rap and her amazing R&B she has everything from reggae, a little rock to some very un-Fergie like ballads: that will make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. We all know she can sing and it is showcased the best on the very vocal ballad: "Finally". Fergies singing voice at times will remind you of Christina (minus the oversinging) and at times Pink. One of my favorite songs on this set is: "Big Girls Don't Cry" - A nice mid-tempo/R&B influenced song. She is talking about getting over a love and how it's time to move on. The melody is great and her voice is great! Destined to be a hit. The Album opens up with the 80's sounding rap throwback of: "Fergalicious". A song that will have you dancing everytime you push play. Very Salt N Pepa, JJ Fad and Queen Latifah sounding, with Fergie's 2006 spin. SO infectious! After that we head right into another great track: "Clumsy". A nice blend of her vocals and rap talents. Fergie is talking about meeting a new guy and how she is all clumsy around him because she is falling in love with him. Great beat. "Pedestal" is another standout on this CD with a great bass line and Fergie rapping/singing. The lyrics are talking about people thinking they are better than you and how you need to knock them off their high horse. "Glamorous" is such a good song with an awesome collaboration with Ludacris. His rap shines, it is done in a very unique way.....you'll have to check it out. "Here I Come" if released will shoot straight to number 1! Great sample of a 1960's classic. A great beat. Her lyrics are smart and infectious. Again, it features Fergie rapping and singing. It also has a rap from will.i.am in it as well. AMAZING song! "Mary Jane Shoes" is a great reggae song with Rita Marley in it. It's a unique song where 3/4 of it is a slower reggae jam then all of a sudden towards the end it kicks up into a rock influenced jam-fest. Very good!

Every song on here is brilliant - those are just the ones that really standout and shine. This is a very fun CD from start to finish. Fergie is in a league of her own and is a very seasoned pro dating her back to when I used to watch her, when she and I were both very young, on KIDS Incorported! This CD is radio friendly and I am sure will spawn many, many hits.
This CD is a must have!!

Free Music Review: Fun, creative, and an overall classy project
Hit: 5 Stars

Sure, there is "London Bridge" as the obligatory ode to oral sex... and it comes off as a fun variation to a style of music Gwen Stefani made even more popular with her solo debut. On that song, the first single, you don't really get a hint of of Fergie's true vocal power but as this album progresses, her skill shines through.
This is a fun album. It is perfectly suited to be pumped in the car during a night drive. The beats are pretty fun and frenetic... but it is the singing that ultimately steels the show. Yes, this woman can sing.
But, enough on just the singing... it is apparent that this woman can have fun too. "Fergalicious" the album opener, is just that. She pokes fun at her sexed up image and then coates it all in a sexual coy delivery. And of course, "London Bridge" is just as fun and entertaining. The nursery rhyme that lends itself to that song gets carried on into "Pedestal" which is a song aimed at taking down a critic. It is a well crafted song... with intriguing lyrics. "Velvet" finds her singing with a jazzy lounge flair that is reminicent of a 007 song... and it is pure class. I particularly enjoy her "rock-pop" out number "Big girls Don't Cry" which has a snappy beat and crisp, Kelly Clarkson-esque vocals. She lets her singing soar on the show-tune like "finaly" and it is then where one really recalls her days with the pop group Wild Orchid.
Also... look for a swinging bonus track... tacked onto "Finaly".
So... recap... pop this CD into CD player and just enjoy what you hear as she hops from style to style, delivering an album that is quite fun and seriously catchy.
