Free Music Notes for The DutchessFree Music Review: A Sassy and Classy dose of Pop/R&B/Hiphop. Hit: 5 Stars
Many critics slammed "London Bridge" as a "Hollaback Girl" rip-off which it kinda is, but this album seems to out Gwen even Gwen, who is now trying to rip of Fergie with her "My Humps" rip-off "Wind It Up." But The Dutchess is a great album with strong Hip Hop influences and Fergies voice suits both her gwen like rap-talking on tracks like "London Bridge" and "Fergalicious" and she even belts out sounding like Christina Aguilera on "Big Girls Dont Cry". Her strong vocals is one of many great surprises on this album. Though some of the sampling on songs is less likeable ("Clumsy" and "Here I COme") but ALL of the songs will eventually grow on you. One of the best albums of '06.

7. Glamorous - Her "Im Real" song. Better then most of those. 10/10
8. Here I Come - Grows on you, decent enough. 8/10
9. Velvet - Pretty but forgetful. 7.5/10
10.Big Girls Dont Cry - Beautiful vocals and emotion. 10/10

Free Music Review: Very Impressive! Hit: 5 Stars
Fergie puts her all foward for her CD "The Duchess". Most of the songs she wrote and they all sound incredible. Fergie is a wonderful singer and going solo was a wonderful idea because Fergie is the best part of the BEP's and she was the one who made them sell records! All the songs are catchy especially "London Bridge". When I heard the song I had to buy the CD! Songs like "Fergalicious", "Clumsy", "Glamorous", "All I Got", "Here I Come" and "Pedistal" are outstanding! They show you that Fergie can really sing and write some catchy songs. But most of all "The Duchess" is just the beggining to Fergies red hot success! Other songs that amaze me include "Mary Jane Shoes", "Big Girls Don't Cry" and "Losing My Ground", fantastic! I would reccomend "The Duchess" to anybody who likes Fergie, or who is just looking for a wonderful pop CD! Trust me on this one, you won't regret it unless you are a very unthankful person or hate good music! I mean cause this is the best sh** ever!
Here Are My Ratings:

Free Music Review: Fergie Passes That Dutch... Hit: 5 Stars
Fergie gets her Missy Elliot on in this Impressive solo debut from the underutilized Black Eyed Peas member. Fergie shows that she wants to take chances and on every song she throws formula out the window. Mary Jane Shows for example starts out as just a reggae song but at the end it turns into a power punk ska song with a wild beat. Finally is like a musical number with its extremely long run time and its over the top singing. Fergie even tries her hand at rapping, and unlike other singers who have tried such as Monica, Fergie shows a Missy Elliot like talent for flow. In Fergalicious she spits out the rhymes at a thunderous pace. On Here I Come she raps to the Temptations classic with impressive results. She shows that she can also show a softer side on songs such as All That I Got (The Make Up Song), Loosing My Ground, and Big Girls Don't Cry. If you hated the first single London Bridge than fear not, she mixes it up a lot. The only one real problem I found on this CD is that she never opens up emotionally at all. She plays with the idea here and there but never really bares herself to the listener. Regardless she does have many gems on this record. The stand out track is Clumsy. Fergie shows she has the talent to not need the Black Eyed Peas, but they sure need her.
Free Music Review: Fresh! The woman's got talent Hit: 5 Stars
Having listened to many of the big releases this Fall (Beyonce, Justin and Christina), I can honestly say that Fergie's is one of the most interesting and fun albums I have heard this year. Every song has a strong beat, great hook and interesting lyrics, and with great production, this is one of those discs that you can spin on repeat in any setting... The one thing lacking is consistency, which is not a bad thing, since the musical genres are all over the space, and Will.I.Am's musical direction shines through on many of the tracks.
The album starts with very likely-futire-Top-5-single "Fergalicious" - a dance floor number, and ode to 80's hip hop with an infectious beat. Loved this one. "Pedestal" is another strong pop track, and on tracks like "Velvet" and "Fianlly" - Fergie's impressive vocals (often disguised on her rap-heavy hits of recent months) soar on these tracks. Artists whose sound this album is reminiscent of, include Pink, M.I.A., Salt n' Peppa, Christian Aguilera and event En Vogue. My personal favorite is "Mary Jane Shoes" - which will hopefully be released as a single - featuring Bob Marley's widow Rita. This is one of the most unique and superb tracks on this album.
This album bodes well for a strong career in pop/R&B for Fergie.
Free Music Review: Don't Judge It By The First Single Hit: 5 Stars
First let me say, if you try to judge this project strictly by "London Bridge" then you'll miss the boat. This is more like Gewn Stefani's "Love.Angel.Music.Baby." But "The Dutchess" is more like its funkier and hipper younger sister. Perhaps "London Bridge" was a Fergiesque attempt at "Hollaback Girl," but there are far better songs that make this album fun and fresh. Stacy Ferguson proves that she has what it takes to dance with the big girls. She can definitely sing. I used to watch "Kids Incorporated," so it's cool to see her make it this far. "The Dutchess" is a great debut CD for a solo artist. It's got a lot of personality and individuality. It's pretty neat to hear her sample J.J. Fad's "Supersonic" in the first song "Fergalicious." She really pulls that off. This CD definitely scores points for being clever and creative. Fergie did not disappoint. This turned out much better than I expected. After hearing the first single, I wasn't sure where she was going to go with the album. But "The Dutchess" is a pleasant surprise. There's more to Fergie than just the Black Eyed Peas, so check this out.
Favorites: Fergalicious, All That I Got, Glamorous, Here I Come, Big Girls Don't Cry, Mary Jane Shoes, Losing My Ground, Finally.
