It's precisely the drawn tempos, the otherworldly juxtaposition of twin pianos and celeste, and even the shocking (and loud!) inclusion of a sine-wave generator as an accent in the middle of an etherial ballad, that makes this one of the most--I'll say it again--etherial recordings ever made. I'm convinced F&T's prep'd piano recordings came from the same lunar recording studio as the one obviously frequented by early Slim Whitman and Lucia Pamela.Sure, it's not the schmaltzy pap you might have wanted to hear from these gentlemen, but what you got instead was a peek into the duo before the almighty dollar sucked their judgement (not to mention their arrangements) dry. Compelling listening for anyone with eclectic tastes in music. And for that price, there's little to lose in trying!
