Free Music Review: Great Voice, Song Choices... Meh

I had heard Hollywood Is Not America from a friend - not from American Idol. I immediately fell in love with his voice. He really is a very soothing and talented vocalist. I can see the potential in his voice from some of the tracks.
However, rating the CD itself, I don't like the song choices at all. I am glad that I put the CD on repeat so that I could see which songs really shine. Hollywood Is Not America is definitely the song type that make his strong vocals apparent. Dear God is also equally as amazing. My Beautiful Lie is close, but I don't find it to be as strong as the other reviewers stated. It's simply mediocre.
The song choices get a bit trite - with each subsequent song sounding increasingly like the song before it. There are those deviations in the album (as I stated a second ago), but I think that if Ferras truly wants to succeed - he needs to work on the choices of his music.
Should you buy the CD? Well, I don't regret it because I found an artist who I will most certainly be following and hope to see grow. But, I would also be just as content purchasing only three or four of the tracks off iTunes.
