Free Music Review: Opening Act in Bryan, TX

I remember it like it was yesterday; I was lead singer in a local high school band that happened to beat out 2 other bands as the House Band for the teen club that was in business one year. My biggest thrill was being the backup band to Fever Tree when they were not quite too big to drive the 90 miles up to Bryan. After the success of the first album, they made their way to California, but they were a Houston band back in the day, and yes, way ahead of their time. I played the grooves off the album when I was stationed on Okinawa, Japan in my army days; cranking the music up and down to add to the effect. Others couldn't believe a group as hot as Fever Tree was totally unknown to them. I love sharing gems like this with others, and like another reviewer who credits Neil Peart for recommending Fever Tree, it is one of the best gifts you can receive; it's akin to finding a ten dollar bill on the ground, except that it lasts longer. So, I agree whole heartedly, buy this double CD because of all Fever Tree's music, the first 2 albums were their best. Btw, back in the day, just watching Dennis Keller singing and smoking that cigarette gave me goosebumps. They rocked then, and they rock now! In my opinion, they should be enshrined in the Texas Music Hall of Fame. And, no, that recorder (wooden flute) I borrowed from them never did make it back into their hands. If you like hard hitting rock and roll that has a truly great singer, with kick butt music, this won't disappoint. Best wishes!
