Free Music Notes for The Amalgamut AlbumFree Music Review: Well, it's ok. Not much more, not much less. Hit: 3 StarsI picked up this CD today (7-30-02) and listened to it all the way through twice. I am a big fan of Filter, but this CD left me wanting more (or, well, less). A few tracks on this CD are done quite well. Where Do We Go From here, tho already overplayed on the radio, is an excellent song. American Cliche is very catchy. The Missing sounds great. The thundering bass, guitars, and vocals that we expect of Filter shine pretty well in these songs. However, most of the other tracks are overly harsh, or just sound exactly the same! Most of the tracks seem to be a combination of a Godsmack tone with some U2 interludes thrown in. Oh ya, can't forget the head-ache causing screaming which sounds an awful lot like Disturbed or Papa Roach. The lyrics are not very creative. The last two songs, unless your apparently under the influence of something, are a waste. Overall, the CD is simply OK. There are a few good songs, but the rest are simply unimaginative and repetitive. Where Do We Go From here? Probably somewhere in the back of my CD holder for the time being.
