Though they certainly took a nod from Peace Punk pioneers Crucifix and Discharge, Orange County's Final Conflict were in a class all their own. One of the first bands to blend hardcore's simplistic and manic sound and heavy metal's musicianship with any degree of success, these four spiky haired geeks created a sound that would go on to be emulated by hundreds of bands- none ever reaching the level of raw power that this LP contained. Predating the "crossover" phenomenon led by such starry eyed bands as The Crumbsuckers and DRI, "Ashes To Ashes" sat around for years, shamefully forgotten until this fine reissue surfaced. Fine, fine stuff here.
