Free Music Notes for Second Great AwakeningFree Music Review: Finally! Rock is alive, and kicking Hit: 5 Stars
At a time when the great rock bands are starting to show their age, and all the newer bands are caught up in the "Music Industries deathtrap"; a glimmer of light has appeared on the horizon.
If you're looking for the emotional power ballads, and pretty boy front men, go see if Poison has put out another greatest hits album. This isn't for you.
However, if your idea of music is jacking up the volume, and having your teeth blasted down your throat by a band that rocks with a vengeance, welcome home.
I can't remember hearing a new band with such an in your face, solid rock delivery since the earlier days of Motorhead. If you're a serious rock fan, you will not be disappointed.
Free Music Review: 70s HARD ROCK IN 2003 Hit: 5 Stars
These guys aren't an amazing group but they're pretty...good. And amongst all the retro/stoner rock groups out there these guys are not reliant on funny cliches about drugs or psyhedelic imagery, you know, the kind of [stuff] you hear on so many stupid 'sabbath worship' bands. What stands out the most on this album is the guitar riffs which make me think vaguely of Black Sabbath (like a lot of these bands) but more melodic and upbeat along the lines of Captain Beyond. No overkill on distortion or fuzz here, the tone is rather crisp. Rota's vocals remind me vaguely of Josh Homme's, easy on the ears but steady. I anticipate an amazing next album.
Free Music Review: Great band ignore the deaf dude down there Hit: 5 Stars
How anyone could say this band was booed is sad. They are a blend of Sabbath, Fu Manchu and a dash of Kyuss. Yeah, it's been done before but it still sounds good. I'm just shocked by the review down there. Maybe it was a Fireball Ministry cover band? They are really great live, seen them twice. As for them opening for Dio, who is always great and Anthrax, eh not as great anymore, hey maybe that was it. Maybe Anthrax was playing and you got them confused?
Free Music Review: COULD HAVE BEEN A CLASSIC SABBATH ALBUM Hit: 5 Stars
I ordered this album online after getting the recommendation, and listing to some of the online sample tracks. The riffs, and particularly, the vocals are eerily reminiscant of classic Ozzy Sabbath, fitting between the "Technical Ecstasy" and "Never Say Die" releases, and actually, much better than both. Any fan of classic late-era Ozzy Sabbath and Deep Purple should give this disc a listen.
Free Music Review: One Of The Best New Rock Bands At The Moment Hit: 5 Stars
I found about these guys after Deron Miller of CKY [one of my favorite bands] mentioned them on CKY's website. I bought the album without hearing a song, and it was well worth it. These guys have great songs, riffs, and vocals. One of my favorite new bands, and hopefully one of yours too if you buy this album, which I reccomend that you do.
