Free Music Review: 2 Minutemen And A Guy fROMOHIO Rage Full On With This Debut

2 Minutemen George Hurley (Drums) and Mike Watt (Bass) hook up with a guy (Ed Crawford Guitar/Vocals) from Ohio to form fIREHOSE. An evolution from Hurley and Watt's Minutemen days as Crawford more than a singer then the legendary D. Boon. He added a more of a Folky feel vocals wise to the mix with some great accoustic and electric guitar playing on the top of Hurley's drumming and Watt's Jazz/Funk Bass playing. Music wise it's Alternative Rock with a blend of Jazz, Folk and Funk. Album wise there is no dud tracks. As soon as you hear the opener "Brave Captain" you are hooked right from the go. I felt that this was better then their next 2 albums if'n and fROMOHIO even though they are both good. Also Crawford sings all the songs on this album though the future one's features Watt Spieling (singing) as he calls it. If you want one fIREHOSE album you best purchase this. If you like College Rock or Alternative Post Hardcore Punk music then this is a must have and then Things Could Turn Around
