Free Music Review: The Best Christmas Album Ever!

While I liked Red Skelton's The Littlest Christmas Tree (My favorite still being C.H.R.I.S.T.M.A.S by Rosemary Clooney--impossible to find in a download and not on any other album I've found)I realize that legal issues made it impossible for the company to include it. (Oh well, too bad that his estate balked. They would have reaped the benefits of a whole new generation being introduced to Red Skelton. Which, for that matter,who really remembers him in our generation who didn't have this album?) ...

Now for those of you reading these reviews not to hear about some song (I know, I know it's a piece not a song)that is missing but curious as to whether this is a good buy. Re-read the reviews and see how powerful of an affect this album has had on people. So much of one that they're getting mighty testy that it was changed at all. I thought I was nutty to be so hooked on a compilation and now I realize that all this time I was in good company.

After I had my kids, my mom made a cassette tape of the album for me (It was such a horrible copy that I even considered seeing if she'd miss the album if it ended up...oh, say at my house...she did.) So for the last couple of years I have been searching second hand shops for the album, cd christmas rack displays for any of the songs and searching online--only coming up with Suzy Snowflake and I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus. Then just an hour ago I found 1 user in possesion of the Littlest Snowman and he went offline before I could snag it. ARGGHH... but not before I saw that the album he listed was First Christmas! I quickly pulled up Amazon and YIPEE!!! ordered 3 copies for myself, mom and sis lest they somehow run out of stock in less than 5 seconds.

So I say buy the cd...you can always download or buy TLCT (and hear how Santa's reindeer was "knocked..out..cold!")and if you are a first time listener still in doubt I can only point out that there is a magic to this album/cd that people still cherish and get teary about 30 years later...what better recommendation can you get than that?
