Free Music Notes for Tusk (Deluxe Edition)Free Music Review: Outstanding Hit: 5 Stars
I bought all three CDs, Rumours, Tusk and the White Album (Fleetwood Mac) and I am so glad I did. Althought I have many outtakes and box sets, I am pleased with this one to no end, as well. Lindsey Buckingham was at the top of his game at his profession - although anyone who has listend to Out of the Cradle or Say You Will - knows that he continues to peak. And so does Stevie, by the way. Tusk is a great CD and perhaps the best and the new CD brings it out. I remember popping in my cassette tapes and listening to Tusk while I did homework in college. I miss those days. I took this CD and grabbed the dog, and went walking by the river. It was transcendent. In this case, I was listening to the second CD which had different versions or demos. I looked like a stupid, grinning kid walking down the river listening - but I didn't care. Rumours is also great CD and as well as Fleetwood Mac--Fleetwood MAC.
Free Music Review: An unbelievable line-up! Hit: 5 Stars
This remastered version of Fleetwood Mac's 1979 double LP hit album features a multitude of previously unreleased tracks that I believe were recorded during these very sessions and had to be excluded to facilitate(fill to maximum capacity) 2 LP's. I believe the band and their producer chose the very best recordings for the LP. Anyway, now for the hits:SARA,by Stephanie Lynn "Stevie" Nicks, which plays for approximately 7 minutes,is pretty cool. The title track, features a marching band and an elephant's blaring trunk. Those songs were recycled for GREATEST HITS,released in late 1988 or early '89. They also appeared on 2002's THE VERY BEST OF FLEETWOOD MAC,along with THINK ABOUT ME,STORMS and SISTERS OF THE MOON. All the content of this disc would facilitate four LP's,which would have been awesome and priced at approximately $20 apiece(in the late 70's and early 80's). The other songs are great.
Free Music Review: Think about this Hit: 5 Stars
Truly a great re-issue of a unique album...for those with doubts, this is an album whose time has come. The women are locked into a gorgeous groove at least as good as that on the previous two albums, and Lindsey Buckingham's inimitable contributions are not that "funny" 24 years later, just rollicking good fun. They are all still singing about and to each other a la Rumours, but much of the big hurt is gone, leaving wistfulness, and even a smile here and there, amidst some of the most beautiful melodies and arrangements ever. Ultimately my favorite of the "big three" from this version of FM. Oh, there's a terrific second disc to round out the story.Hook into it now!
Free Music Review: Fantastic Reissue! Hit: 5 Stars
Incredible 2nd bonus disc, great booklet, fantastic sound- the 3 Fleetwood Mac reissues are treasures to revisit again and again. If only we could have follow-up expanded reissues of 'Mirage', "Tango In The Night' and anything solo by Stevie Nicks. The 'cleaning lady' version of "Sara" is a gorgeous standout on Disc 2, with some of the most incredible singing ever by Stevie Nicks ("and the wind became crazy")-- Thank you Fleetwood Mac- i see incredibly insightful, VERY well-written song-by-song reviews here, so read those, i just wanted to add my enthusiastic 5 star rating-- and if there were 6 for the 'Rumours' re-issue, i'd give it at least that!
Free Music Review: stevie reigns supreme Hit: 5 Stars
coming off of the biggest album of all time the mac had their work cut out for them. though they were splintered emotionally as couples and friends, they had a lot to say. lindsey was trolling the punk scene. christine still mining the wanderlust. stevie found in her soul some of her most personal and touching feelings in songform. STORMS will break my heart till i die. BEAUTIFUL CHILD is simply beautiful. ANGEL and SARA are poetic heartsongs that move me towards heaven. the demos are a must have for any machead. 25 years later this album is still a most exciting journey into the soul. rock on.
