Free Music Notes for Mail on Sunday AlbumFree Music Review: Flo Rida- Mail On Sunday Hit: 4 Stars I really hesitated when i bought this album because i read so many reviews saying it was terrible. But then "Elevator" came out and i loved that song so i decided to go ahead and give it a try... I came to a conclusion. Rap has really fallen off. Rap fans have decided that, in order to be the best rapper alive, you have to do the most drugs, kill the most people, & get shot at at least six times otherwise your labeled as a fake. Or not "hood". And i was thinking about it, and alot of these people that are judging rappers these days based on how many people the rapper has killed, have probably never even seen a gun. There are so many rap fans out there that wont even listen to this album because they dont listen to rap unless it talks about doing drugs or killing people. Personally, i think that if you are a rapper on any record label, your obviously making money, so why would you still sell drugs? Why would a rapper that makes more than a million dollars a year still sell drugs? The answer is, to get street cred. And these last few years thats what rap has been based on. The rappers who have the most street cred, are the ones that sell the most records, even though we all know damn well that those same rappers that claim to sell drugs are living in massive houses in hollywood. Now Flo Rida does have a couple of those songs, but he doesnt over do it. And personally, i really enjoyed this album because it has a little of everything on it. My favorite track so far is the club banger "Ack Like You Know" where he just tells everyone, hey im making my money. Another great song on this album is the more laid back/grown & sexy song "Ms. Hangover". Another one of my favorites is the Roger Troutman (RIP) assisted "Me & U" where Flo confesses his love for his woman. The thing with Flo, is hes got a real good flow to his rhymes. He has that cocky & confident attitude, but at the same time he can slow it down and just relax with his flow. The thing i like most about this album, is that he doesnt over do anything, he doesnt try to get street cred or try to be somethin hes not. Overall, this album is not amazing, but i think there is alot of people that hate on him because he is commercial. Personally i know that Flo Rida will be around for a while so i dont think i really matters how many people hate on him because he is selling records.
