Buy this album. Now. Not only for the 60 minute prog epic masterpiece, but for equally strong pieces such as "Deaf, Numb and Blind," "Corruption," "Calling Home" and "Painter," among others. Revel in the superb playing of guitarist/singer Roine Stolt (whose style encompasses a mixture of so many influences that it becomes in essence a style that is at once unique and recognizable), keyboardist Tom Bodin (who plays in an excellent classical style but is not afraid to depart into equally excellent blues and Patrick Moraz-ish styles), James Salizar, (who is just great), bassist Michael Stolt (who does a great job keeping the listener up with the frenetic lines of the other instruments) and vocalist Hans Froeberg, an excellent singer whose soothing vocals are the perfect compliment to Roine's gravelly rock voice. Marvel at how well the band blends piles of different musical themes and styles seamlessly into single songs to create a full album of more than 150 minutes of great music. Wonder how they have created such an original masterpiece by building on the already-well-established prog rock format. Because they've done all that, and the result is fantastic. Sure, the album is not perfect (witness Hudson River Sirens), but where it's good, it's good. The Flower Kings show they can be technical musicians, classical musicians, avant garde, psychadelic, progressive, hard rocking, improvisational, middle eastern, operatic, straightforward, artistic and more, but most of all enjoyable.

I haven't heard Stardust We Are yet, but if it's the band's best album, as I've heard frequently, I can't imagine how good that album could be in comparison with this.
