This was my first exposure to Gram Parsons, and I'll pick up more along the line. I don't like country music as a rule, but this is good stuff.
I have an absolute ton of music. I've been collecting CDs and such for more than 20 years. It is rare that I'm pointed toward an artist from the 60s-70s that is new to me. Somehow, I missed out on GP, but I'm glad to have him now.

Gram Parsons was an innovator and had a voice that pierced the heart with its vulnerability. This album captures the innovation and the unique qualities of Mr. Parson's voice. It is hard for listeners to understand, today, just how unusual it was in the 60' to combine country and rock. By the 70's, Parson's innovation became mainstream with the Rolling Stone's Exile on Main Street (Parsons was friends with Keith Richards) and a plethora of California bands.Free Music Review: Refreshing

After all "new" albums of recycled Flying Burrito Brothers material, this is a real treat! The Burritos sound great live, a little ragged, but that is some of their charm--the beginnings of alt-country at its best. The mix is excellent and Gram's breaking vocals come across better here than on some of their studio albums. It is easy to pick out Chris Hillman's harmonies as well. A great sound from a band like no other. The material on this CD is a rare find.Free Music Review: A rare gem!!!!

Two complete sets by the Burritos recorded by the Greatful Dead in 1969. Gram and the guys could hardly have been better than this. It is quite famous the stories of horrible shows with Gram too drunk or stoned out of his mind to be able to play or sing. Not here though. "Dark end of the Street" "Metal Revenge" , etc are high water marks for LIVE Burritos (IMO).
Definitely recommended.

I bought this for my husband for Christmas. It's a compilation of live music recorded at Grateful Dead concerts. He loves it, and while I was not a huge fan initially of the Flying Burrito Brothers, I have to admit, this album is a great deal of fun.
