I loved it and know you will too. You can't sit still on the fast ones
and tear up on the slow ones. What more can you ask for.
Free Music Review: LOVE IT! Hit: 5 Stars
I absolutely love both of these two cds. I love Gram Parson's voice and have listened to these cds over, and over again!
Free Music Review: gram cd is a shot in the arm Hit: 5 Stars
Burrito Bros. live Cd is long overdue.
Sounds like Gram plays the Dead's organ on a sogn or two.
Free Music Review: very pleased Hit: 5 Stars
The CD arrived quickly and was just what I expected-gram Parson's fans will like it.
Free Music Review: Great music, Uhhg packaging Hit: 4 Stars
The music on this double CD is great, as anyone familiar with Gram Parsons would anticipate. There is some hiss that could easily be cleaned off without effecting the music, in fact I may do that myself. As a Gram lover, the two complete shows are fine with me; however even I would have enjoyed one great CD with the best performances of the overlapping songs plus the two bonus cuts. Gram wasn't a jazz artist and he didn't vary performances in anything but subtle differences of feeling and emphasis.
The packaging - visually very nice - is a real problem. The CDs are wedged into hard cardboard envelopes pasted on the back of the outer covers. It is IMPOSSIBLE to remove the CDs without damaging them; in fact I thought I was going to have to tear the envelopes off the covers to get them out. Dumb. And the booklet, very nice, had pulled out at the staples before I opened it. This cute trend in packaging has to stop. If you're going to do a cover this way, then glue two clear plastic disk holders instead of the damned envelopes. I ought to return several of them to make it negatively cost efficient. I would except I am afraid then we'll never see the Captain Beefheart Avalon concerts.
