Free Music Review: As far as EPs go...

Alright. So, two types of people bought this EP:
A)The type that bought the EP first and
B) The type that bought the album first.
I fall under type B.
And I must say, I'm impressed.
I happen to like the minor differences in lyrics here (particularly on "I'm So Sick" and "Breathe Today." That's only because I can relate to them better, though.)
The musical sound is slightly different here, too. I like the way "Red Sam" sounds here--it has a more raw, emotional sound.
Anyways, Flyleaf is currently in my top 5 bands right now, so I might be a bit biased.
However, they bring something fresh to the table that other female fronted bands don't.
See, there's two types of fem-fronted bands:
A) There's the Evanescence types. And then, there's
B) The Barlowgirl types.
It has been this way for many years, until recently, when fem-fronted bands started finding their "happy medium"--not too sad, not too happy.
(By the way, I love both Evanescence and Barlowgirl so I have nothing against them. Those were the two best examples.)
Fortunately, Flyleaf already had their happy medium when they first started out. Each song presents a conflict and resolution. They are raw and intense, yet at the same time, they are also clean and joyful.
This is getting to be a long review, so I should stop now.
Anyways...awesome EP.
