Free Music Notes for Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace

Free Music Review: Foo to U - We're just ordinary people, you and me
Hit: 5 Stars

Foo? Every time I hear That voice and the music, what can you say or do? Sing along over and over again.

I hear the 70s influences of Crosby, Still, Nash; Gerry Rafferty; others. Other than the hits: Pretender, Long Road to Ruin

*Erase/Replace
*Come Alive
*Ballad of the Beaconsfield Miners? That is the quintessential small town porch song on a warm summer night after outdoor grilling with friends, watching fireflies, loving the feeling.
*Home, for all the women who doubt
*Summer's End - 70s summer love, good times, bare feet, Frisbee, hacky sack, beachside fire with circle of friends
*Stranger things have happened - plaintive introspective brooding. You'll need a big hug, a sugar buzz, or powerpop injection after this (my PC shuffled over to Dulce Beat's Dulce Beat "Sexy" Ha, a-yeah. And then it skipped over to "Everything Counts" Construction Time Again by Depeche Mode. PC reality slap :)
*Statues - Donald Fagan, 70s vibes

Free Music Review: All The Best
Hit: 5 Stars

I have been a fan of the Foo Fighters since I first heard the "I'll Stick Around" single Dave Grohl and crew released back in 1995. I was eleven years old in 1995, and the Foo Fighters have been my favorite band ever since. I have bought each Foo Fighters album on the day it was released, and today I picked up ESPG. I am now 23. Nothing has changed: The Foo Fighters still got it.

Pretender opens the album and you can't help but notice your foot tapping and your head banging. As some previous reviewers have said, this album both hearkens back to Colour and the Shape in some songs, and melds acoustic "In You Honor-ish" in a way that blows me away. In that same spirit Stranger Things Have Happened is what acoustic Foo Fighters is all about. The Ballard of the Beaconsfield Miners is an awesome treat and Home is like a lullaby that makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up while at the same time forceing you to try and sing along.

I was a fan at eleven years old. I AM A FAN NOW!!!!! Buy this album if you have or haven't bought one before. You will not regret it, you'll be blown away.

Free Music Review: The Long Road of the Foo Fighters
Hit: 5 Stars

'Echoes, Silence, Patience, & Grace' has become one of the favorites in my CD collection since I got it! From the album's hard-rocking beginning through to its softer end, the Foo Fighters take you on a journey of their musical past. You'll hear their familiar brand of post-grunge rock but sounding a bit more mature; sometimes a little hard, while other times you'll feel the influence of Classic Rock's past. There are some slower songs, some electric, one solo-acoustic (you'll swear it was an outtake from 'Skin and Bones'), and two at the end with Dave Grohl on the piano that sound like you just turned on the Adult-Contempory station. While the mix of styles sounds a little disjointed at times, the album flows from hard and loud at first to slow and relaxed by the end. With the variety of the songs, I can listen the whole way through the album and never get bored. While a younger version of myself would get turned-off at the softer moments (especially the songs at the end), the Foo Fighers have grown, and so have I, to appreciate all of the different styles that have influenced their sound over the years.

Free Music Review: Another Landmark; Beyond "In Your Honor"
Hit: 5 Stars

"In Your Honor", the album released in 2005, was a two-disc, 20-track, landmark for the Foo Fighters. The album featured 10 "loud" tracks and 10 "not-so-loud" tracks. And together, all 20 tracks showcased the Foo Fighters' talent (with a little help from a few others).

Now, two years later, "Echos, Silence, Patience, and Grace" hits the streets and prooves that Dave and company are still on top of the game. These boys have talent. This album is both "loud" and "not-so-loud" and all 12 tracks flow nicely. Nothing is out of place. "The Pretender" is a breath-taking beginning and "Home" is an astonishing conclusion.

If you love the Foo Fighters, you will love this album. The signature sound is here: double barrel guitars, drums that attack, and Dave yelling at full volume. Aside from the signature sound, the album features acoustic guitars, pianos, and strings; Dave also sings.

This album: breath-taking and astonishing. This album is epic (albeit 12 tracks). Long live the Foo Fighters!
