Free Music Review: A Louder, Darker, Better Foo.
Hit: 5 Stars

The Foo Fighters have always been at the very top of the alternative rock scene as one of the most inovative. Thanks to now legenday Dave Grohl, this band has been filling our ears with powerful rock songs for over a decade. With their sixth studio release the Foo Fighters have reached new level. The twelve tracks have a sound at least I haven't heard from this band. They have more of a haunting feeling that leaves you in chills once the album is over. The music ranges from loud electric to very meloncholly acoustic. This is also the first time I have heard Dave Grohl scream alot since their grammy winning 'Colour & Shape.' This is truly a remarkable cd and it is definitely going to get alot of credit maybe even a grammy nomination. This cd pretty much lands Foo Fighters as a staple band in the history of music from the late 90s and with each new release it brings them closer and closer to the rock & roll hall of fame.

Free Music Review: The Foos Came Alive
Hit: 5 Stars

The song is different with each album and each time I have to spend a couple of days listening to get use to the new sound. Not with this album. I loved it upon first hearing it. Dave wrote to my soul again and it makes me so happy. There is a transition through this album. It's heavy at the start and continues to be heavy with a soft undertone to it as the album progresses. Once again they introduce a different style. It makes me think that Taylor got his hands dirty toward the end of the CD and it's awesome. I love the changes they have undergone but I love that they have a little something for those of us who have been there from the beginning. For those of you disappointed, People change. They grow up. They mature. The sound can't always be the same. It would get boring. The Foo Fighters always evolve which is why they are still here. Dave, Nate, Taylor and Chris: keep rockin and I will always keep listening!

Free Music Review: Ground breaking album!
Hit: 5 Stars

Having never been much of a FF fan I was skeptical about buying the whole album. I had heard "The Pretender" and "Long Road To Ruin" so with 2 really good songs at least, I took a chance. Now it's my current favorite album and one that I'm positive I'll keep in my collection forever. After listening to it I have went and ordered all of their previous work in an attempt to find out....WHAT HAVE I BEEN MISSIN'? Not many bands or musicians release albums like this anymore. Over the years there have been VERY few bands/musicians that you could rely on to deliver great albums over and over. With Foo Fighters history and credibility being a major factor (how many grammy's have they won now?), I'm curious to see what the future holds for these guys. When they release this album's follow up....I WILL PAY ATTENTION!!

Free Music Review: A Huge Step for Foo Fighters
Hit: 5 Stars

Musically, this is the most creative and most carefully constructed album the band has ever put out. Although it's impossible to recapture the glory that was The Colour and the Shape, Dave Grohl and company have proven they are capable of considerable musical growth. Although they dabbled with acoustic, lighter music on In Your Honor, they have gained traction with the lighter, melodic side of things with Echoes, Silence, Patience, and Grace. It is clear they are much more comfortable playing a little quieter, and most surprisingly, singing lyrics with deeper meaning than ever before. That in itself, is a major departure from where Grohl started with the self-titled album in 1995. And perhaps that's the most encouraging and exciting thing about this album: the band has something meaningful to say.

Free Music Review: Their defining album
Hit: 5 Stars

Echoes, Silence, Patience, and Grace is in my estimation the Foo Fighters greatest album to date. It is a record that shows tremendous growth in songwriting and musicianship. Sure, there will be those who do not like it because every song is not loud and heavy. However, this is why I find it so magical. Tracks such as The Pretender, Erase/Replace, and Cheer Up Boys are rooted in a heavy rock sound. However, they have also written great songs that speak to the heart and soul. "Home" is a great song and it is just Dave and a piano. The standout track is Stranger Things Have Happened. I cannot hear this song enough, and it has become one of my favorite tracks of all time by any artist. This is a defining album that is worthy of its nomination as album of the year.
