This is my first Foo Fighters album. I like it, despite Best Of You being a little overplayed. The first CD is a set of solid rock songs with distorted guitar, the second CD features often spacious acoustic songs.
Amazon does not provide much information as to WHICH import edition you are buying; it could be either the UK 2 CD edition or the Japanese 2 CD edition--other editions I don't know about. Both of these would include the bonus track The Sign, which is a heavy, driving, and melodic song, up to the standards of the rest of the album.
My Japanese version has standard Compact Discs, without the digital rights management (DRM) software found on the US edition. This is nice for anyone who doesn't want a headache putting the music on iPod and/or dislikes being forced to to allow cloaked rootkit software that secretly sends information about your computer and use of this music to Sony via the internet.
It also has an extra booklet with the lyrics in English and translated into Japanese.
