Grohl definitely said it best on the new single "All My Life." The Foo get better with each progressive album (though Colour and the Shape is still my fav), becoming a cohesive, unstoppable musical force.The single kicks the album into high gear and continues through the seemingly QOTSA sounding "Low" and mid-fast paced balladish yet rocking "Have It All." One of the catchiest and best songs, "Times Like These," will be stuck in your head for days and could be a radio hit.
I guess one could complain that some sound a bit derivitive, but to me it's just the Foo's style of songs and it works as a cohesive album in a way that makes the Strokes' "Is This It" work nicely, not in the EVERY AC/DC album way.
The album closer comes as quite a suprise, being an almost 8 minute long song "Come Back," which I guess some could consider prog-rock, but I just consider it the Foos en Grandeur, and it works really well.
Aside from these, check out "Tired of You" and "Disenchanted Lullaby."
Overall, a kickass album and their best since Colour and the Shape.
