Free Music Notes for For the KidsFree Music Review: Great for kids and parents! Hit: 5 Stars
This has been our number one cd. We love "La La La Lemon" and "The Wonder Wheel". Our favorite song has to be "Rock and Roll Snow Day". My kids ask me to turn the volume up, and if the weather is warm enough, we roll down the windows and sing at the top of our lungs. We live in a rural area so this is very funny to us.
The album is a mix of Sesame Street favorites and other songs done by artists that I really listen to. Even my husband can stand to listen to it (and he can be quite a grumpus).
My 8 and 10 year olds always ask me to play this album when their friends ride with us. They like to share this cool music they've discovered. The songs are a mixture of sweet and irreverent which is perfect for my 2 year old and me. It keeps us all happy.
We play this album so much that sometimes I have to "hide" it - but not for long!
Free Music Review: I enjoy listening - even without the kids Hit: 5 Stars
This is easily my favorite kid's album. My kids have grown with this album, they are now 5 and 7 and it is still their favorite. I'm not even sure how long we've had it - but I think at least 4 years. "The Hoppity Song" has been a family favorite since we bought it. They still scream to play it "one more time!" and I never mind doing so. My son's current favorite is "Snow Day" - he is in school now, after all. I love the mix of rock, folk, and classic kid tunes done with a twist. I recommend this to anyone that came of age as an "alternative" music fan, and is afraid to get children's music. And anyone that grew up with the early days of Sesame Street has to hear the Barenaked Ladies doing "La, La, La" - it still makes my husband and I laugh. BTW, the original is WAY better than the sequels.
Free Music Review: Best of the Kids music Hit: 5 Stars
I was tired of hearing The Wiggles and Sesame Street had lost it's charm after the 1000 time listening to it, so I tried this CD-What a Gem!! I have a 2 yr old and a 10 yr old. They both love it. I love that it's artists that I like and music that they like and the lyrics arent questionable. It's a fun CD with varied styles. Sarah McLaughlin and The Rainbow Connection makes me teary-eyed, it's a great rendition. We love Guster and We've Got to Be Clean, and all the others. The Tom Waite song is my personal least favorite, but it's even acceptable.I eagerly recommend this if you're tired of the same hum ho kids music. This is one you will love just as much as them.
Free Music Review: Keep your kids singin! Hit: 5 Stars
My 3 year old son received this CD as a gift. I love it, he loves it and our 15 month old loves it (or at least all the energy generated by everybody singing!)I love hearing some of my favorite artists lend their talents to such a great project and my son loves the kid oriented aspect of the music. The Hoppity Song is our absolute favorite - being replayed over and over..... and ...... over. There is a great variety of music styles on this CD and should have at least one favorite song for everyone. I would recommend this CD to anyone with little tykes rolling around in the car with you....OR for anyone that just likes fun, entertaining music.
Free Music Review: For Everyone! Hit: 5 Stars
I bought this CD after having heard Mahna Mahna on the radio. It's an all-time favorite song which brings up many happy memories. Cake's interpretation is wonderful. The line-up on the CD is amazing! Several of my very favorite contemporary artists performing fun, childhood songs? This is a blast! My favorite is the Hoppity Song. Sarah McLachlan singing Rainbow Connection doesn't make the #1 slot only because that song never fails to get me all verklempt. Ah, kermit...This CD is a must-have for anyone with kids. Anyone without kids who's not so "grown up" that they can't sing along with La La La Lemon will love it too.
