I was searching for CDs to recommend to a friend having a baby and read through some of the negative reviews. I had to add my positive comments. We played this since the day my kids were born--it was just the right mix of slow & fast for babies. They are about to turn one and love it. I can sing any of the songs (particularly the first one) and they will instantly smile, even if fussy. I think some of the bad reviews were for older kids, so we haven't reached that age. I find They Might be Giants (recommended by others) to be a little abrasive for small children and we haven't really connected with their albums yet.Free Music Review: Great for Parents Too!

This album is FANTASTIC. Buy it. It's our 1.5 year old daughter's favorite. That may be because it's our favorite too. I've even gone out and purchased albums from the artists on this CD for myself. The songs by Bleu and Five for Fighting are particularly good. It's hard to find a kid's album that you as a parent can stand to listen to over and over again. I'd listen to this one even if she weren't around. If you as a parent are an alternative music fan, this CD is a must have.
By the way, pass on "For the Kids Too." It's super boring. Like most good movies, the sequel never lives up.

This is a great CD. Most adults will recognize the songs from thier childhood and most of the performers from their current CD collection.If you have a small child that listens to the same music over and over again, you need this cd. If you have to hear the same songs constantly, it helps alot if they are sung by artists that you respect.
If you dont have a small child except the one inside you, get this cd just for the upbeat and fun energy that the contempory artist bring to your old favorites.
And, of course, part of the proceeds from the sales go to Canadian/US children's charities.

This is the first children's music cd I have purchased for my daughter that I can listen to. I not only listen to it, I enjoy it and dance around with her. I think what really makes it is the fact that many of the songs are originals and modern. The cd is so upbeat and I love hearing Barenaked Ladies and Cake doing children's music! In fact my daughter's favorite song now is Cake doing Mahna Mahna! I play it each morning and she smiles so big her little face scrunches up! It definitely is an asset to us to prevent and cure fussing and just to have a good time with our daughter!Free Music Review: One of our favorites

This is a fantastic CD. I think my husband and I love it more than our infant daughter does, though she does dance to many of the songs. The Bare Naked Ladies do a great cover of "La La La La Lemon" - we laugh every time we listen to it.. We also love "I've Got To Be Clean" and "Rainbow Connection" which is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard. We've had this CD for 3 months and listen to it daily! A friend came over the other night and loved it so much she went and got it - and she doesn't have any kids.
