The Good
"Hot Air Balloon" starts off rather timid, but builds to a powerful and emotional chorus. The vocals are rich with melody and grandeur and compliment the acoustic guitars well. "Goodnight" is like a soothing lullaby your parents may have sung to you as a child. "The Clothes We Walk In" is another track that is high on melody and song structure. "The Rain" uses guitar arpeggios to give you the feeling that it is falling all around you. As the track draws to a conclusion, you can feel the thunderstorm. "Avalanche" picks the tempo up a bit and shows Brendon at his sonic best. "Talu" is quite eclectic with its guitar pieces. The lyrics are quite heartfelt.
The Bad
"Magic" is a little weak to be the opening track. While piano can typically emit passionate emotions, on this track it's just piercing to the ears. Brendon is really `on' when he challenges himself vocally, but he just doesn't do it enough for me. He plays it safe for the most part.
The Verdict
Foreverinmotion's latest release is much like a serene hot air balloon ride into the nooks and crannies of our peaceful landscapes. Brendon's lyrics are clearly from the heart and delivered in the same manner. I would have liked him to belt it out a little more, but he still delivers a great trip.
