Free Music Notes for Interventions & LullabiesFree Music Review: a great debut album. Hit: 5 Stars
The Format capture the perfect blend of melodic hooks and sincere lyrics on their 12-track debut album "Interventions and Lullabies". The album starts out with the catchiest of the 12, a song cleverly titled "The First Single". This track is sure to see it's share of radio air time, along with the track "Sore Thumb" shows reflections of another Phoenix band, Jimmy Eat World. Fan favorites "Give It Up" and "Tune Out" are sure to make you want to dance, while the emotional "On Your Porch" gives the album a nice change of pace to start the second half of the album. These guys bring the energy live, with the music matching or exceding the emotion caught on this album. This is the best debut album I have heard in a long time.

Free Music Review: I dunno why, but I just can't get enough of The Format Hit: 5 Stars
So I first heard of The Format when I went to an RX Bandit's concert in Denver. During the show I dug the tunes and enjoyed their musicianship, but the vibe was kinda lacking, but I bought their EP none the less. And I listened to it and really liked it. I couldn't wait for the new CD to come out and there's just something so infectious about their music. Nate has such a mediocre voice and sometimes sings really flat, but it works, it keeps the music simple and sweet. Its not too overproducted, and yes it's radiofriendly. But sometimes thats not bad, it just makes it easier to swallow and enjoyable in a mass appeal. Its never bad to be a little more happy and upbeat. In fact in this day and age, with the music in the States, this is a nice refreshing sound.
Free Music Review: Do you like San Fransisco? Hit: 5 Stars
I have seen ONE guy on this page (three posts) who said he didn't like this CD. Instead he lists the most generic "i think i'm indie" stuff I've ever seen. This guy doesn't like music, he likes buying whatever the people at Pitchfork Media say is good. Let me guess what else you like, San Francisco Guy: Constatines, Rapture, Grandaddy, !!!(chik chik chik), and maybe Prefuse73 and Ween. On occasions when you feel more mainstream you go for Kings of Leon or the Darkness. Give me a break. He even took Pinback off his final post cause he realized Pitchfork don't think so highly of Pinback and it might ruin his indie rock edge. Give me a break. The CDs great, its insulting to compare it to the Goo Goo Dolls. Check for yourself.
Free Music Review: Excellent cd for anyone Hit: 5 Stars
This is an excellent pop/rock album. I bought this cd after hearing only the chorus of "The First Single" from the cdnow clip. I figured that a band that can get just a 30 second clip stuck in my head is worth my time. I was more than pleased. you can't deny good pop music, its good for you (even for the punk rockers). Every song on this album is good. If you are getting sick of hearing that, thats because it actually is true. Ive had this cd for months and i still listen to it at least once a day and im not sick of it. if you like solid musicianship and extremely catchy melodies this is a must buy. this would be a great summer time cd if you are looking for one. happy listening.
