Free Music Notes for Interventions & LullabiesFree Music Review: Incredible band!! Hit: 5 Stars
My wife and I, who are in our forties, saw this band live with Yellow Card and Something Corporate. We had never heard of this band before, but we know them now. Intricate harmonies, catchy melodies, and cool lyrics define this band. I highly recommend this CD to everyone who likes the Beatles, Beach Boys, and Cat Stevens. I had the chance to talk to a couple of the guys after their set and told how much I enjoyed the music. They said they really appreciated it, especially since I had probably heard a lot of great music "in my day" (yeah, like I'm that old).
Free Music Review: The best CD I have heard in a LONG time! Hit: 5 Stars
This is by far the very best release by The Format! I saw them live, and purchased this CD at their show. I can honestly say that I couldn't have expected anything nearly as great as this. Their music wraps the sounds of pop, rock, and emo into one fabulous package; and their deeply personal lyrics can relate to the life of any listener. I would definitely recommend this CD to anyone, especially those of you who enjoy artists like Yellowcard, Dashboard Confessional, and Jason Mraz. I don't regret a single penny that I spent on this CD, and I'm sure you won't either!
Free Music Review: If the format were a person, it would be the man. Hit: 5 Stars
6 months ago, i heard the format for the first time, it was the EP, and i was DJ-ing at my college radio station. when i heard the cd, i understood why people liked it, and brushed it off as "ok." fast forward, its april 18th, the third day of the annual skate and surf festival in asbury park, nj. i'm in front of the stage waiting for Straylight Run, and the format comes onstage. instantly i was an addict, i rushed to the local cd store where my brother and i purchised inteerventions and lullabies, one of the best cds i have heard in years.
Free Music Review: A great CD all around! Hit: 5 Stars
True, the music on this album is not groundbreaking, but it is addicting. I've listened this CD endless times and I love every single track. It has a great sound, like a mixture between retro pop (think 1960s or 70s) and the more alternative modern rock sound. There's a lot of things I could say about this CD. It has terrific lyrics (escpeically for the songs 'On Your Porch' and 'Tune Out') I also enjoy the fact that a lot of the songs make references to place in Arizona that I know and have grown up with so it creates these great visual images.
Free Music Review: The new "Format" of music Hit: 5 Stars
This is the first "The Format" cd that I have heard, and I have to say it is great. Every song is different, and it doesn't fall under just one catagory of music. There are slower songs, somewhat pop-like ones, and just plain rock. The first song that got me hooked was "The First Single." Not a creative title, but it just goes to show not to judge a book by it's cover. This song was a creative masterpiece and I just had to get the CD after this. I would definitally reccommend this CD to almost anyone looking for good music.
