Free Music Review: Sinatra in his 70s
Hit: 4 Stars

This is the greatest recording ever by a man in his 70s. The best recording ever of "Moonlight in Vermont". If you are a Sinatra fan this is Gold.

Free Music Review: Ole' Blue Eyes is Back!
Hit: 4 Stars

I ordered this for my boyfriend who is a Sinatra nut. I will give it to him on Father's Day.

Free Music Review: It's Frank for those who listen blindly.
Hit: 3 Stars

Listened to on-line samples of this disk and maybe I should have stopped there. I ordered, the disk arrived and I've listened several times. It's Frank, alright, but that about sums it up. Too often it's a scenario of going through the motions. Age did not descend graciously. This Frank, though obviously eager to entertain [and satisfy], sounds like the primary objective was to hit the right notes at the right times with the right lyric. The moments of magical phrasing that came natural in the 50s, 60s and 70s are, sadly, too few and far between. To my ear this is an aged Frank still attmepting to be the mature and middle-aged Frank, a time when he simply had no peer, but there are many times when lyrical interpretation comes up a bit short. It's hard to explain but with all that being said there are enough moments to make to worthwhile. I'll listen on.

Free Music Review: It's Over And Tough To Let Go
Hit: 3 Stars

I am a Sinatraphile and this CD is a disappointment. However, given that it was his last recorded-live concert it perhaps should be considered a must. Most of the arrangements are new and refreshing. Frank, sad to say, did these past-his-prime appearances because he loved doing them. Period. But the pipes are long gone and he sings with quite limited range. The appeal of the man and the memories of his great musicianship are what filled the arena on this night. He's having fun, knows he really can't deliver like yesteryear, but makes the most of every musical minute. What a guy! Sixty years of giving us the best music America has to offer and it landed in every global village on earth. Hail!

Free Music Review: Not one of his best
Hit: 3 Stars

Being an avid Sinatra fan, this one just didn't live up to his abilities. Focus on his earlier live albums with the rat pack, the Vegas box set or New York box set. This one just fell flat a bit.
