Free Music Notes for Grand Wazoo

This is an extremely good CD made by better than average professionals. I mean professional musicians, DG. Anyway Frank was just being Frank when he frankly stated that if you see a fish sticker on a car then you know that is 'the enemy'. That seems to be as foolish as saying that all _____ are the enemy. In other words, mindless bigotry. I met his friend Don in Palo Alto in 1977. It was a great opportunity to shake hands with Van Vliet and I learned some things about Frank that reflected Don's concern for his wayward friend. To everyone else, buy this CD from Amazon TODAY!

I love Frank Zappa's instrumental/experimental period from the late 60's/early 70's. That's probably why I love the Grand Wazoo. While I haven't heard the entire disc, I can safely say this is one mighty fine album. These instrumental jams are atmospheric, adventurous and as creative as a jam can possibly be. The way Frank Zappa used to write music is just really incredible. Being experimental really *is* the way to go, for long-lasting satisfaction. While Hot Rats is his masterpiece, the Grand Wazoo is probably his next best album. Jamming done right!

Hit: 5 Stars

Similar in concept to Waka/Jawaka, The Grand Wazoo is bookended by two beautiful instrumental musical works of art. While, in my opinion, not ultimately as skin-tingling as the two show pieces on Waka/Jawaka, The Grand Wazoo and Blessed Relief are two prime examples of Zappa's innovative and immensely exceptional musical talent. He is one of the most underated American composers of the twentieh century. If you love interesting, intricate, jazzy, textured and rhythmic music, buy this and its companion piece Waka/Jawaka. You won't be disappointed.

Just a question. What exactly is wrong with zappa's lyrics? You make a statement like that and fail to back it up with examples and say that you will not go into the reasons why(the biggest cop out of them all). Then you go on, with no basis on anything, to call zappa a neurotic person with repressed anger. DO YOU KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT WHAT YOU WROTE! DO YOU KNOW HIS REASONS FOR HIS LYRICS? OR WERE YOU LOOKING FOR LYRICS THAT HAVE NO VALUE A LA DAVE MATTHEWS? I'D REALLY LIKE TO KNOW YOUR INTENTIONS. DON'T WASTE UP SPACE.

Free Music Review: Essential to Any Thorough Music Collection
Hit: 5 Stars

This album should be absolutely essential to any serious and thorough music collection. I am huge fan of FZ and I listen to this album as much as, or more, than any of his others. Having first bought it on vinyl when it was first released, I have never tired of listening to it over the years. It contains some truly wonderful music. I urge you to get in a room, douse the lights, relax, and play "Blessed Relief" on a good stereo system and just see if you aren't transported to some distant galaxy. Enjoy!
