Free Music Review: Hasn't worn well through the years

I loved this album in high school when hearing the f word on vinyl was a kick. Now I find most of Billy the Mountain to be dated and juvenile, though the ending is still pretty neat. That leaves the 'other' side of the lp, which had a great version of Call Any Vegetable, the inane Eddie Are You Kidding, and a phenomenal rendition of Dog Breath (one of my favorite Zappa guitar solos). Magdalena is wonderfully crude and anti-PC, but my wife won't let me play it in the house.Free Music Review: Execrable is the only word for this

Until listening to this, I considered myself a Frank Zappa fan, owning about 10 of his recordings. One of them (The Best Band You Never Heard) I didn't particularly like - the music was good but too much 'humour'. So a friend offered to swap it for this. I accepted thinking you can't really go wrong with FZ. Man was I ripped off! This is unlistenable.
It defies my belief that anyone could produce rubbish like this, or that other people could actually claim to like it. It has completely altered my perceptions of FZ. This is childish drivel - with no hint of musical ability. I'll stick to FZ's earlier jazzy compositions and cap my collection at that. As to whether humour as a place in music - clearly the answer is an emphatic NO! It is a completely different aesthetic, and frankly I haven't found any of Zappa's humour funny since I was 18.
Fortunately, I've found someone to on-swap this with - but it won't be for another Zappa. I'll stick with British 70s rock thank you. Give me the humourless Led Zeppelin any day!

I love Zappa but there are a few albums that are bad! The self-indulgent silliness on this CD may have worked on stage but does nothing for me on CD. I won't give this shelf space alongside brilliant albums such as Hot Rats, Waka Jawaka, Apostrophe, etc. Avoid this unless you are one of those people who believe that Frank could do no wrong.Free Music Review: Be Warned

This has got to be my least favourite Zappa album, Not that it doesn't hav a few good moments, I just find it impossible to listen all the way through. unless your a big fan of Flo and Eddie (sorry i just don't understand) or a zappa completist be very cautious with this one. zappa has many great albums but this isn't one of them.Free Music Review: what a pile of junk !!

anyone out there who thinks this guy wasn't on drugs is as crazy as he was. All this nut's music was a big pile of dung !! this stuff makes no sense at all !! sorry but this is just awful, not just this cd but anything this lunatic did !!
